Better to cherish the chinese culture and festive celebrations now ,especially there is still old chinese folks in their 70s 60s 50s 40s after which for next new generations to come , in 20 to 30 years time, there might not be even chinese language spoken or even chinese culture to be seen, chinese population will slowly dwell cease to even exist . Even if there still is, its what now is 1/3 mix chinese , who cant really speak chinese hated their own kind desperately cant wait to grt rid of their surnames and lineage..in the whole world only chinese race do that to themselves . Looking at how young women preferences and their eq with constant influences coax by the government ,certain religious groups...using simple sample.size to.analyze. Its not hard to read.the curve. Only thing is I dont know why the gov want to do these and their interest .

Good observation! Ya culture and social trends are hard to beat. Usually controlled by money too, trend goes where it gets you more money. But lets treasure the culture we now have and personally growing up in Singapore I love the Chinese New Year Festive feel all around. And everyone generally feels happier as they look forward to meeting up with friends and relatives and taking breaks from work.
