People will say just 26 running doesn't count because it's not a mainline locomotive, and I think that's a load of baloney. For what limited resources they have, having 26 running is an accomplishment regardless.

I agree with your statement, really. The 26 may run good, but I kinda feel bad that it’s the only steam locomotive operating on the property. I sure hope they get the 3713 running asap, just in case if the 26 is sidelined for a possible future overhaul. Also, I have a feeling that Steamtown might want to reconsider thinking about bringing CN 3254 & CP 2317 back into operation after their complete overhaul. Or perhaps they should reconsider cosmetically restoring the rest of their equipment displayed outside, rusting away, even former CN 47, a skeleton of her former self. I mean she can’t operate due to her papers being lost in a fire, but they could at least she could *cosmetically* restored for outdoor display just like the UP Big Boy 4012 and Reading 2124. I’m not sure if they needed their own papers for their cosmetic restorations, but the rest of the equipment are all rusted up, and if I was in charge I would never allow any equipment to rust away. If Steamtown had a lot of money, in the trillions, they would have enough to restore almost everything from the tracks to the infrastructure and the equipment combined! Okay maybe I was over explaining this but the point still stands that Steamtown has one big gorilla on its back when it comes to its possessions and what they’re supposed to do with it.

@@T128Productions I read comments like yours all the time whenever Steamtown gets the spotlight. Steamtown would love to restore everything, but they are a NATIONAL PARK. Most all of their funds come directly from the federal government. If us railfans actually want things to improve there we need to call our representatives and demand more national parks funding!

Steamtown National Historic Site is amazing with their beautiful steam locomotives and other locomotives and equipment. Great video by the way.

You do know that the only operating steam locomotive is the old 26, right?

All steam engines are old, and most museums don’t even run one steam locomotive.

@@DynamoProductions-trainsGood point. BTW I haven’t heard too much about the B&M 3713’s restoration. Not sure if it’s still going or if they’re on a hiatus, like if they have school work or something idk.

@@T128Productions I’m already aware about Baldwin Locomotive Works No. 26 being the only steam locomotive in operation there, since returning to service in 2015.
