My wife and I did this trip on May 23, 2017, two days after the roads had opened for the season. Many feet of snow still along the roadsides at the higher elevations. We noted that each of the switchbacks (around 36 on each side of the pass) are numbered, I presume to help rescuers locate the victims. The views from the top are astonishing - one of the great road trips in the world.

Really breathtaking👍- the majestic mountains, and the road itself (must be rather thrilling to share it with all the bikes and motorbikes 😅... ) The colors look great on TV 👍💙🌤💚 !

So ein blöder kommentar. Endlich mal ein video mit tollen bildern! Bei diesem verkehr wirds schwierig den pass hochzurasen. Schalt auf 1.5x speed und geniesse die bilder.

ステルヴィオ東側ダウンヒルは車窓だと最高ですね。車なら西側ヒルクライムが迫力ある。ロードバイクだと逆が面白い。ジロで残雪どころか雪だらけの中でのチマコッピ通過とかたまらん。

Grandiose ! Mais je me dis que cette route (comme la " vieille " route du Saint-Gothard à partir d’Airolo) devaient être épuisantes pour le conducteur avant la " direction assistée " sur les voitures !
