Nice. Wonderful. Went there last year for my 49th birthday. Southwest was my airline choice. Always wanted to go to the Cayman Islands. The weather was unbelievable. Loved it.

It is a beautiful place to spend a few days.

As an ex-ual employee I've been watching your videos for some time now and I just realized that you can't take a vacation/vacation because you've been to all the vacation spots around the world - lol. Tks for your videos!
@sla319 ай бұрын
Haha. Yeah, I'm always at these beautiful spots and I'm always working. People are always asking me how much I love getting to go to Hawaii so often, and I always reply with, I don't know, I never leave the area around the airport haha. That said, I have actually vacationed in Hawaii before and the Big Island is one of my favorite places to actually travel. And there's still plenty of places I'd like to go but haven't yet. Hopefully get to more of those places later this year! Thanks for watching my friend!

@@sla31 I suppose thats true - you land, make reservations for the next flight out to another part of the world. I agree about a favorite vacation spot - Hawaii, but we go to Oahu (the tourist trap - lol) and stay at the "Old Lady" - the Royal Hawaiian pink hotel.

I was watching The Atomic Blonde where she's fighting against 3 hardened killers, and now, I'm watching your video. I've never been to the Cayman Islands. The only Caribbean island I've ever visited was Trinidad and Tobago back in 1986 for Carnival. So... 3 more days for you now. We're in for clouds and showers for Monday, so we probably won't see much of anything here. The 91% coverage we had here back in 2017 was exciting to see. It got MUCH darker outside and the temperature dropped a good 4 or 5 degrees. It was like someone had put a great big sunglass over the sky. Anyhow, fly safely, have your camera ready, and be sure to Drink The Ooze. And remember, it's seven years per hour on your flight. And watch out for professional assassins. :)

The place I spend some years in my youth! I'm actually visiting in a couple weeks, might do a Sister Islands trip too (another Twin Otter and SAAB-340 opportunity!)

Taking the Twin or the Saab is always fun! I did that on this trip and had a great time!

First and great fly! Have you heard commercial aircraft exceeded 800+ mph and they broke the speed of sound due to jet stream meaning you're reaching the destination earlier than usual?
@sla319 ай бұрын
Yes I did see that, it’s pretty incredible. That said, there is a bit of a misconception here that is commonly referred to, but isn’t actually true. Yes, the jetstream propelled aircraft passed the speed of sound on paper, but none of them actually broke the sound barrier. To actually break the sound barrier, you have to be traveling faster than the speed of sound relative to the air you are traveling in. Not how fast you are traveling over the ground. This is the difference between true airspeed and groundspeed. When an aircraft is traveling 600 mph, with a 200 mph tailwind, the aircraft has a ground speed of 800 mph. However, their airspeed is still only 600 mph. so, it looks cool on paper, because you are traveling very fast, but none of those aircraft actually broke the sound barrier.

This question may have been asked before, but do your ears ever pop or feel weird during flights? And If so how do you deal with it, because sometimes during high altitudes the pressure affects my ears and they feel weird. It goes away after a while but still annoying, does it happen to you?
@sla319 ай бұрын
I mean, my ears will pop due to pressure changes, but otherwise I don't think I'd say I ever feel weird. Now, if you have an ear infection, you're going to be in some unpleasant amounts of pain, but that's a whole different story. I usually can equalize the pressure pretty easily by just yawning or swallowing.

Cayman Airways has a pretty livery. I think it's their flag?
@sla319 ай бұрын
Yes, I agree. They have a very nice livery. And yes, it is based off part of their flag. Their flag is blue with their coat of arms and the Union Jack. The coat of arms is what the livery is based off of. Thanks for watching!
