Simala Church is open with limited capacity due to present COVID-19 pandemic. Lighting candles permitted near the entrance gate as well as venerating the image of Mama Mary. No mass being held inside and church is off limits.
Aerial footage of the aftermath of Super Tyhoon Odette in Birhen sa Simala Monastery, Sibonga, Cebu. The monastery survived the Typhoon Odette with very minimal damage and fallen trees in the vicinity. Mama Mary continues to protect the people of Cebu despite the calamities experienced.

Around 7pm, pumasok ang bagyong Odette dito sa Minglanilla Cebu. Around 9pm, I just play "Oh Maria Rayna sa Pilipinas" via youtube bago na lowbat ang phone ko. Around 1am, humina na ang bagyong Odette. Mas malaki ang pinsala sa ibang lugar sa Cebu South kumpara dito sa amin. We are all safe sa family ko. Oh Miraculous Mary, our Mother, thank you so much sa lahat lahat.. in all the blessings and graces I received.. even when I passed the November 2009 Nursing Board Exam. Continue to watch over us and to teach us how to pray and trust the will of your son, Jesus Christ. Amen. 💖🙏

I’m so blessed to see the Simala Church three years ago. It was worth it even though the line was long. It’s amazing inside seeing all the Saints and virgin that I never saw before. The church is beautiful! I would to come back someday.

I've been here in this place ..I thank God ..I've been visiting this place ..it so solemn and our God the presence are very strong I can attest of it when I was there ...so miraculous there so many things I've seen that it's so amazing that God is alive and manifest his presence to each and everyone of us only to allow him to come.into our life and live everyday in accordance by his will. I've been there last 2017,at halos sa mga sinulat ko kay mama Mary ay natupad,dalawa ang nagkatotoo,gusto ko sanang bumalik para magpasalamat kaya lang nasa Canada na ngayon ang sister ko na naninirahan dati sa Cebu.At eto nga nagkaroon ng covid kaya hindi na ako nakabalik.Pero sana someday makapunta ulit ako sa Birhen ng Simala para magpasalamat.At marami pa akong gustong isulat at hilingin sa kanya.Hindi ko makakalimutan ang na-experienced ko sa lugar na ito,naniniwala ako na naghihimala talaga siya basta magtiwala ka lang sa kanya.

We've been there last 2018 with my Mamang when she was still alive, I thank God that I was able to bring her with my family n a friend who took care of her and us who is Vangie. It was dream n it came true, nothing is impossible to God n Mama Mary even if my mamang was with a wheelchair wherein we were able to carry her and even attended the healing prayer. The place is so holy n very nice. How i wish , we can go back to that place again
