The blue sky, snow-white clouds, and the strong golden tone of the village are reminiscent of Van Gogh's oil paintings. There is not a single brick house or a wall that is airtight in the whole village. The rows and rows of thatched houses are spectacular. Girl Ava, guarding the stall in front of her house, is intoxicated by the music. The tiger-headed children in the village are laughing and playing, and a ray of sunshine seems to shine through from the house, which warms the heart...Everyone here Every picture is full of comfort, like a beautiful dream, with idle clouds and wild cranes, and walking time.
This is Wengding Wa Village. Wengding in Wa language means a place shrouded in clouds and mist, and also means the beauty of Baiyun Lake in the mountains. The Wa people's ancient language means "people who live in the mountains". Wengding, which is built on the mountain, is surrounded by dense woods. The woods to the east are called "sacred forests" and are called "Yamowe" in the Wa language. "Ya" means "forest", and "Mowe" is the village god. Wengding, with a history of more than 400 years, is home to generations of Wa villagers.
Walking into Wengding Village, it is like a fairyland. It is a pure land with original ecology and no hype. It makes people feel inexplicably still and some can just quietly admire the picturesque scenery in front of them. Wengding Village still retains the complete Wa village gates, totem poles, village stakes, sacrificial houses, sacred forests, wooden drum houses, traditional handicraft workshops and Wa pole-rail thatched houses, etc. The architectural style of Wa folk houses and the original Wa customs and customs have been passed down from generation to generation. Following the inheritance, the entire tribe is surrounded by mountains, with ancient villages lined with thatched huts, paths leading to the village, bamboo buildings standing quietly, surrounded by rain and mist, and the mountains and forests are quiet. There are no overwhelming gorgeous peach blossoms here, but the artistic conception is like a paradise far away from the world, a happy paradise, a kind of paradise that returns to nature and cleanses the soul.

Wa people are not just confined to China. It's a large ethnic group. Although in China they are regarded as one of the ethnic minorities, they are in Myanmar as well.

The more i watched the videos from Yunnan provinces especially the WA tribes...its almost like the Nagas in India.. Buffalo head, Basket 🧺,The leaves that cover the house, log drum , bamboo make ro carry water,Traditional dress and songs and so many more ... Though the language differences...Even here in Nagaland every villages spoke different dialects, Different tribes have their own Common languages😅... And the village name itself is just so similar...there are son many villages in Konyak Naga tribe which ends with Ding,Ting to their village...Ding,Ting,Ching its meaning is Village in different Konyak Naga tribe... They are probably our ancestors though we don't have a written scripts or origin

Very similar with BATAK people of North Sumatera, Indonesia. Choose to live in the island interiors on highlands. Same outfits with similar fabric patterns. Similar housing ornaments with water buffalo horns arranged vertically and positioned at the top center of the house. Same shape of traditional house with some smaller houses functioned as rice barns. Almost similar way of traditional dancing moves. Same way of worshiping characteristics (ie. Gathering and praising an old tree, carrying a large wood and putting the wood in the middle of a filed and having the villagers dancing around it. I think somehow the Nagaland genetics has spread all the way to Indonesia.

My father told us many stories about Yunnan province he said our cultures are very similar he went there two times during the 1960s and 1970s after he executed the 2nd mission to the east pakistan when the Naga freedom movement was so crucial for survival, many of his comrades died in the fight with Burmese and Indian occupational forces and my two uncles bones were brought back home from Naga Burma area in 2006 who were killed after crossing the chindwin river and my father died in 2023 at the age of 83.

This is the real village. A fire in 2021 destroyed the entire village. It was rebuilt and opened to the public in 2023. While we enjoy modern life, we cannot ask others to live in a primitive state, without electricity, toilets, air conditioning, cars, or the Internet. Now all the villagers live in the new village outside, which is not much different from the modern life in the city. The old village is open to tourists as a display of Wa traditional culture.
