Hi Serge & Helene. Thank you for your wonderful comments. I am so glad you enjoyed the video of Silverton, another of my many favourite places. I never think of one movie being better than an other only different. If we all did the same we would not be watching. I was pleased with the shot of the train coming almost to where I stood. It is a favourite of ours. Over the years I planned stops here on five different road trips. The train is brilliant but when all those day trippers have gone the town is really atmospheric and those mountains completely encircle the place. The roads to the town though are described as the most dangerous in the US. There are some big, unguarded, drop offs. Thanks for watching guys.

Awesome! We absolutely love the San Juans and the towns of Silverton and Durango. We stayed in Durango last year but only passed by Silverton to the Million Dollar Highway. It looks like such a great little mining town! ❤ Thanks for this very cool tour! 😊 Loved seeing the train come in! We rode the train but only went halfway to Cascade Canyon and not all the way to Silverton.

We like Durango too but have never spent the night there. It is so close to Silverton and we could never pass up a chance to stay there. When the trains have departed it is so quiet and wandering the streets surrounded by those glorious peaks is such a joyful experience. Similar in the morning too and after breakfast (at the Black Bear Cafe) the shrill whistle of the approaching train signals a sudden change. Must have been great to ride the train if only part way. Thanks for taking such an interest in what we have been doing.

Silverton is a wonderful old mining town set in glorious scenery. The arrival of the trains from Durango is for me the highlight of a visit.
