Love seeing trains at work. When I was eight years old I was standing much too close to a passing train. The neighbor lady (in her seventies) came out of her house and screamed at me 'what are you doing? Get the hell away from there.' Now I know why!! But she made me cry. If Mrs Montfort was alive today I'd give her a hug....

Great video. I mus say, UP is a lot more interesting in their use of locomotive brands then BNSF which is largely GE
@carrion44354 жыл бұрын
shnimmuc it’s because BN cares about their business and their employees and buys the best. UP just keeps using junk that should of been retired long ago. Look how much cleaner the BN units are. Cuz they actually wash em. UP’s COLTON wash rack was shut down years ago. UP recently voted worst company in the USA to work for. And I can attest for that.

Is BNSF really "largely GE"? They have literally hundreds of SD70s, and most of their yard and local power is Geeps and SD40s.

I used to ride the freight trains thru there (back and forth) over the years. And I'm Damn glad I don't 'ride' trains anymore ! LOL
@kensingtonchapp48194 ай бұрын
Michael didn't make a mistake. The departure yard shown here is on the east end of "West Colton yard," as defined by the UP Los Angeles Area Timetable. Even though the bulk of the yard is in Bloomington, this part of the yard physically resides in West Colton. Why they didn't officially name it Bloomington Yard I'll never know, but I'm sure there's some history there.

@marcelomenendez19712 жыл бұрын
i suspect that you referred to the sd40s, they were built with the same frame of longer 20 cylinder sd45, the sd40 have 16 cylinder ewngines so the carbody is shorter, and have these long porches at the front and in the end
