This is a fairly well video except that the use of the stirring instrument will change the mass of the precipitate. In the end there were some precipitate on the stirring instrument. Good video otherwise

@@chemfunman havent had much luck. Amazon seems iffy quality wise and other sites are in the 100s for a kit. I went with a cheap hand pump to see. Got some filters and carbon.

Great video ! If the solid is not in suspension in the liquid and is miscible and already part of the liquid, can you extracti it wiht a buchner Funnel ?

If I wanted to filter chlorophyll out of a plant oil with ethanol extraction. How would I go about it with DE Earth and activated charcoal or carbon x. You mentioned sandwiching activated charcoal between two coffee filters. How would that work versus mixing the solution with activated charcoal briefly and then pouring through a cake of DE Earth?

How long does the solution stay sterile? I want to fill up sterile solutions in ampoules and seal them but doesnt get the solution contaminated if the solution stays in an open ampoule for about 2-3 minutes after sealing?

sterile? depends on the solvent. for ethanol, until it dries up.

If one wanted to use activated charcoal for filtering in addition to the filter in the Buchner funnel, what would be the best way to go about it? Would adding a layer of charcoal to the filter in the Buchner funnel be the best way to go about doing it? So when you pour the substance into the funnel, it first goes through the activated charcoal layer, THEN through the filter paper. Let me know what you think.
