Street music day (SMD)
a celebration where all those who are capable and willing to go out and play music in the streets, squares or even public transport in various cities of Lithuania and abroad. On this day, the city streets sink in the sounds of music and viewers enjoy the performances created by musicians. Whether you are a professional musician or an amateur; play metal or country - everyone can participate!
The celebration takes place on the third weekend of May
The tradition began back in 2007, when musician and author of the idea Andrius Mamontovas emailed his friends and invited them to go out on the streets of Vilnius. Since then, the idea has become so popular that it has become an international tradition. Musicians perform throughout the day in various venues throughout many cities in Lithuania and at the end of the day create an improvised drum procession with viewers as the official last performance of the day called “Drum2gether”.

In previous years, Latvia, Armenia, Georgia, the Netherlands, Norway, Belgium, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and Ireland have independently organized the celebration. The Lithuanian community held similar events in: Copenhagen, Sicily, Paris, Pune, Los Angeles, Tallinn, York, Nottingham, Barnsley, Connecticut, Bergen, Innsbruck and London.

iš karto matyti kur tikra laisvė, žmonės bendrauja visur girdėti nuotaikinga muzika na tikra šventė сразу видно, где настоящая свобода, люди общаются, повсюду слышна веселая музыка, настоящий праздник you can immediately see where there is real freedom, people are communicating, you can hear upbeat music everywhere, a real celebration

Посмотрел прогулочные видео и Вильнюса и Риги. Здесь жизнь, красота, много деток, все радуются, гуляют, музыка со всех углов. Рига же наоборот, как могила…
