Gankeng Hakka Town is located at 18 Ganli Road, Gankeng Community District, Jihua Road, Longgang District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. It was founded in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is a Hakka settlement on the Shenzhen mainland. It is based on Hakka folk customs, Hakka architecture, Hakka folk sports, Hakka traditional cuisine and Hakka pastoral scenery are integrated cultural tourism attractions, covering an area of 180,000 square metres.
Gankeng is one of the ancient Hakka villages with a long history, as it is one of the "Top Ten Hakka Villages in Shenzhen". In the Hakka dialect of mainland Shenzhen, "Keng" means a small stream or small water. The Hakka people still use it today. Gankeng Hakka Town is a Hakka inhabited area with ancient buildings and multi-storey streets. For more than 120 years, Mulberry Nanxiang Building; a unique Hakka culture. Gankeng Hakka Town is an important cultural portal for the aboriginal people of Shenzhen.
Gankeng Hakka Town is a characteristic town of Hakka culture, an ancient area of the National Revolution, and a characteristic cultural area of Shenzhen. In July 2017, Gankeng Hakka Town was selected as a national-level cultural tourism characteristic town, "2017 China Cultural Tourism Integration Pilot Area (Base) Pilot". In 2018, Gankeng Hakka Town was selected as "Guangdong Culture and Tourism Integration Exhibition Area". In December 2019, 20 strong characteristic towns were selected as the most popular characteristic towns in Gankeng Town. In 2022, Gankeng Hakka Town will be selected as the Guangdong Night Culture Tourism Consumption Centre. In December 2022, Gankeng Hakka Town will be approved as a national 3A-level tourist attraction.
甘坑古鎮，起源於甘坑客家小鎮，位於廣東省深圳市龍崗區吉華路甘坑社會區甘麗路18號，起源於明清時期，是深圳大陸的客家民居，以客家民俗風情、客家建築、客家民俗體育、客家傳統美食、客家田園風光為一體的綜合性文化旅遊景區， 佔地18萬平方米。
甘坑是歷史悠久的客家古村落之一，因為它是“深圳十大客家村落”之一。 在深圳大陸客家方言中，“坑”是小溪，小水，客家人沿用至今，有一句“坑”，甘騰森甘，所謂甘坑。 甘坑古鎮是客家聚居區，古建築，多層街道。 120多年來，桑樹南翔樓；一個獨特的客家文化體。 甘坑古鎮是深圳原住民重要的文化門戶。
甘坑古鎮是客家文化特色小鎮，民族革命老區，深圳特色文化區。 2017年7月，甘坑古鎮入選國家級文化旅遊特色小鎮， “2017年中國文化旅遊融合先導區（基地）試點”。 2018年，甘坑古鎮評比“廣東文旅融合展示區”。 2019年12月，20個強勢特色小鎮入選甘坑鎮最受歡迎特色小鎮。 2022年，甘坑古鎮當選廣東夜文化旅遊消費中心。 2022年12月，甘坑古鎮獲批國家3A級旅遊景區。
