Taos Pueblo is the only living Native American community designated both a national historic landmark and a UNESCO world heritage site. These multi storied adobe houses have been continuously inhabited for over 1000 years! It is located in New Mexico, USA.

What's the inside look like, if you don't mind my asking? I can't fins anything online about the interior... And incant figure out if the ground floor goes all the way back underneath the upper levels, or if its more like equal sized rooms built on a hillside. The base layer would be so much larger than the upper layers in one case, and have to support a huge amount of weight too. Thanks!

@breakingthemasks so depends on the houses interior photography isn't allowed. A long time ago, people would have to climb ladders into the home. Now it's a door. So there isn't a same pattern to most of homes. Some houses can have multiple rooms. My family house is one room with a fireplace and a cooking Wood stove.

Thanks for sharing the walkthrough; we’re the blue/turquoise doors OG? Interesting 🤔?

Originally there were no doors at all. They came in and out through the roof because they were often attacked by other tribes.

It's early morning the day after their big "San Geranimo" festival. On that day no cameras are allowed in the village. But I also wanted to get some pictures and videos so I came back the next morning even though I had other plans. So everyone was still quiet.

Why aren't there any people? Just structures?

It's early in the morning. And it was the day after their big San Geronimo feast which they do not allow any pictures or videos at. So I went again the next morning.
