Where Ubisoft gets no credit and it just gets taken for granted is the extensive research they do at accurately portraying these periods of history in different parts of the world and then building a beautiful open-world design around this historical concept. Nobody does it better than them and half the fun with any AC game is exploring the open-world design and its history. The map is smaller than past entries but in the city, no 2 square blocks of it look the same. Very intricately designed where it doesn't feel repetitive running around the city unlike the Ezio trilogy for example where everything really looks the same in comparison.
@echeneis2256
@echeneis2256 8 ай бұрын
One thing I think Ubisoft deserves credit for is that if you go back and play Origins, there is a feeling of consistency to Mirage. Whereas look at Rockstar's GTA series and each entry from GTA 3 to GTA 4 to GTA 5 feel like different generations. Like it might be difficult to convince a GTA V player to go back and play San Andreas, or even GTA 4, because it is such a different experience. But not so with Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla and Mirage - there is a consistency that makes it feel cohesive between these different games. They seem like a very conservative developer and people like to criticize Ubisoft but I think it's a strategy that pays off in some ways.
@godsmacking99
@godsmacking99 8 ай бұрын
@@echeneis2256 People like to criticize Ubisoft because that's what gets clicks on social media, being negative and hypercritical of everything. Ubisoft has had some bad launches of games in the past but the games themselves aren't nearly as terrible as the internet will make you believe. Most of them are actually quite good and if in a world where Ubisoft went away and stopped making games, people would greatly miss them and their consistent game releases including the haters. Ubisoft has a very crucial role in the gaming world as being one of the now few true AAA developers that pumps out yearly consistent games like what was done in the past and is no longer being done. AAA games are seeing longer and longer gaps in between new releases but Ubisoft is over there still putting out a new game in a franchise every 1-2 years like we're still in the golden PS2 era when that was the norm. Not 4-5+ year gap like it is now with a dozen unnecessary remasters released in the meantime to fill that void. People want new games to play from franchises they enjoy consistently, Ubisoft delivers that. They're the only ones that do except maybe CoD and yearly sports games.

@@godsmacking99 Ubisoft is GOAT imp. I cant wait for a game for 6,7 years. I really dont want physics i want good graphics and gameplay that Ubi is giving. There is no game better than theirs as compare to solid textures and beautiful open world. For example Ac unity give me a name which is better looking than acu in 2014 and even now in 2023 Acu texture quality is amazing and the world is beautiful.

It is like we have a time machine available ! The big disastrous for Baghdad was when Mongols destroyed the entire city. The revenge came later when Mamelouks of Egypt defeated Mongols in the famous Ain Jalut Battle, 1260. This battle saved also Europe, because psychologically speaking Mongols were found to be not invincible !

Assassins Creed always has a special place in my heart because it's the first game that I played while toasted off pot. It was the 3rd one, where you play as the Indian during the Civil War era. I was at the part where there was a flashback to the main character growing up as a little kid in his tribe. And the scenery was all dusky and orange, and you're hopping through the tree tops and playing hide and seek with other kids. I sat and marveled at how I was living in a little world inside of this world lol smh. Ahhhh high pondering. So fun.

In my opinion, doing things like this way is very unique among lots of gaming channels, and I think this is the best way of being relaxed and immersed oneself in the wonderful virtual gaming world! I like your channel very much and only had luckily found it recently! I never finished Odyssey, and completely ignored the main plot in Valhalla once I had reached England, instead just traveling around exploring, while I have completed Origins multiple times and spent hundreds of hours in it. So my interest in Mirage was somewhat limited, until I saw the first images that reminded me a lot of Origins. And this 3h walk through the world of Mirage pretty much confirmed this. Much of the talk on Mirage is about returning to a stealth driven game play, or Basim being less of a super-human character. But all I really care about is to again explore a lush and colorful world in the middle east, instead of temperate forests or, even worse, large, colorless landscapes covered in snow. That's of course just a personal preference, but both Origins and Mirage will continue to suck up a lot of my time while I basically abuse them as walking simulators in a world that is so pleasurable to just be in. And I'll give vorpX another go to not only see Mirage, but be in Mirage with a VR headset. Apparently I should finish Valhalla first before exploring Mirage myself, as the ending seems to be quite important for understanding the story of Basim, who already appeared as a character in Valhalla. There is a very interesting KZbin Origins play-through by Christian Casey, an Egyptologist who also gives courses in Coptic, basically the language that would have been spoken during the time of Origins. He provides a ton of extra informations about the Ptolemaic period and the thousands of historic details Ubisoft integrated, whenever he runs into them during the game. His main pet peeves are the NPCs speaking some sort of pseudo-language instead of Coptic, and the presence of colorful mangos on markets, even though these were only introduced in Egypt centuries later during the middle ages. He'd probably be pleased with Mirage too, with the NPCs speaking Arabic and mangos, appearing again in many market scenes, actually been known in Baghdad at that time. Anyway, thanks for the great walk, as this is exactly what I want most from this game.

This game is a waking simulator. It must be. To me it is. I don't need nothing out of this game, just walk, enjoy the view and the atmosphere! 🙏

Yes and 90% of them seem on fast robotic walk ..Ubisoft need to do some real time animation with their Anvil engine instead of these unrealistic robots...As for the street vendors gesturing and wildly animating their arms and hands around like they are talking or arguing with someone and yet there is no one there seems a little odd too.

seems like something you'd only notice if you were doing exactly this while playing. if you were running around above the crowds in normal gameplay you wouldn't notice. very nitpicky

its lovely. the only thing they got wrong was that the niqab or some kind of bushiyah/burqa was the norm for Muslim women back then. Western sensitivities are different of course, but they should have followed this too for it to have been immersive and believable for the time period. At that time, only nominally Muslim women from the Turkic areas, Mali and Java were known to walk outdoors without face veils (as in Ibn Batuttas writinga) and this was because West Africa, the Central Asian steppe, and Southeast Asia were far enough from the Islamic theocratical centers in the mid east to be let off from following the religion and restrictive Shariah to a T. This wasnt the case in Iraq, the Arabian oeninsula in general, and in the other central areas. Just for some context, the removal of the face veil for a "head and shoulders hijab" was something that happened in the latter 20th century in places like Egypt. It was then emulated in other places of the muslim world. some of the only places that didnt follow it were Saudi, Kuwait, Yemen, Afghanistan and Pakistan. Most women still wear facial veils in those places even today.
