松原湖は、長野県小海町にある湖です。猪名湖・大月湖・長湖の3湖の総称です。3湖の中でも最大の猪名湖単体を指します。
888年の八ヶ岳連峰・天狗岳爆発により、生成された自然湖です。
周辺に一周する散策路が整備されており、10月下旬から11月上旬の紅葉が美しく、天狗岳や稲子岳を望む風景が広がります。
夏はヘラブナ、冬はワカサギの釣り場となる。水深は最大7.7メートルと浅く、冬になると結氷し、諏訪湖と同様に御神渡が生じることもあります。
新海誠監督の映画「君の名は。」の糸守町は八ヶ岳山麓の小海町がモデルと言われています。
物語で重要なポイントとなる「糸守湖」の最初のモデルは、監督ご自身のTwitterでも伝えているように生まれ故郷の湖をイメージしたものです。新海誠監督はNBS長野放送のインタビューの中でも、「湖のあるまちということで最初にパッと考えたのは松原湖のことです。松原湖では少し小さいので大きくした」と語っています。
