Magic Kingdom TRON Lightcycle Run Full Ride Experience in 4K | Walt Disney World Florida March 2023

Here is a ride experience video of the new TRON Lightcycle Power Run roller coaster at the Magic Kingdom! This was filmed during the Annual Passholder preview on March 4th 2023. We were only allowed to ride once, so we each filmed our own ride POV of the attraction (one from the front row, and one from the very back). The back row is a standard roller coaster seat with a lap bar, instead of the regular lay down Light cycle style. Naturally, the back row footage came out much better, but I still included both ride POVs for comparison. The video ends with the new walkway connecting TRON/Tomorrowland with the Storybook Circus area. I’ll definitely be back once the ride opens next month to get some better footage, especially at night.

This looks amazing!! Loving how the story begins with the BGM as you approach the queue…excellent story telling/drawing in. So many comment on how short the ride is, but the attraction is the entire experience, approach through exit. Thank you for capturing that!! I’m definitely going to need to watch the movie as it has been a very long time since. I look forward to the chance to experience it later this year…hoping I get to. So many who have posted have only posted the “ride” launch through brake-run…but this is so much more. Thank you for capturing the overall experience!!

🏍Hands down your back seat footage will be the best out there of the displays in the show building. Everyone else just have GoPros & hunched over views. Can't believe your train only had 3 people, but most seemed empty. That back seat will be impossible to get once it opens for Das passes. Crazy good BGM until it's copyrighted inside. (Get Harmonious back yet?) Great seeing the train from the ramp💃🏻 and those overall views are so unique. Glad fun was had but it sounds like you all thought it was going to be an all night affair😥 thx for sharing 💜

Mike Perry Super Enthused If it was me that was making the ride, I would of done it all indoors to give that feeling your in a computer system! For me seeing the outside world breaks that illusion-shame 😞 And from what I have seen in videos/pics your not outside that long anyway! Also helps with the weather situation. Say it is really windy/raining then it would have to shut 🙄

They made that outdoor segment because it is the cheapest section of the entire ride. No special effects necessary, no building with all the necessities that come with a building structure etc. It doesn’t make any sense concerning storytelling, actually quite the opposite. It totally destroys the immersion into the computer world. They could have integrated the section, where guests in the queue see the ride track, far better as an indoor feature but that would have been far more elaborated - and expensive!

Great vid once again 4K thank you for making this. Watching your vids in the evening has become part of our routine, we are no longer "TV divorced" :) Boy, too much negativity out there IMO. I think we have a pretty smart bunch at WD Imagineering and they prob had good reasons for their design choices. My question, as you ascend and reenter the inside after the outdoor swing is that short level section unfinished or on the blink? Reminded me of SM with lights on. Can't wait to ride!

I personally didn’t experience that but I can totally see how that could happen. I feel like if you don’t move your head at all throughout the ride then you’ll be fine. Moving your head around during the sharp turns could potentially cause a problem

Is that all? The walk-through is better than the ride - the coaster should be at least three times longer. Would be far better at night with the lighted canopies, but few will be able to do so due to limited nighttime hours. My vote? Space Mountain still wins hand-down - I remember my first ride on it in 1975 just like it was yesterday!

Well I didn’t expect much and still was disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, your video is great and the ride itself looked quite good yet not breathtaking. And that’s exactly what I expected from Walt Disney Imagineering in the past. But with the present leadership I guess truly masterpieces cannot be expected anymore. With the exception of the ride itself it is disappointing on nearly every approach, the immersion in the world of TRON is more than a twisted membrane shell roof and mostly black walls with a few blinking decorations. Watch the movie to understand what I mean. Of course they made the huge mistake of ignoring the original movie and instead went for an approach based on the disappointing crap sequel, just like they ruined Star Wars Land. I know it’s a clone from Shanghai but this doesn’t excuse the cheap approach in the design of the building (some facades are outright terrible, looks like a warehouse) , the queue and the pre-show, a post-show doesn’t even exist. Not even the seemly inevitable gift shop? And it seems like Disney doesn’t build AAs anymore, too expensive obviously. It’s just like everything that comes from woke Disney. Cheap designed indoor areas, dull vacuous architecture and a mediocre because FAR TOO SHORT ride, I mean why is the entire beginning outside when Lightcycles never leave the computer world? Because it means less to build and design. The typical Disney kinetics could have been included into the design in better ways. And of course diverse! It’s definitely not a desperately needed E-Ticket Ride for a Tomorrowland in decay.
