That little part laying there on that shop towel gave me the worst headache of my life with a 2000 model GMC Sierra. It was removed by someone and put back on. They never tried to crank the vehicle. Left the keys hidden on top of the tire at work. truck is ready. yeah right I’ll get there at 9:50 at night after working nearly 14 hours and the truck will not start. I’m there the very next morning when the shop opens. They messed with that thing for several hours continuously all along saying it was something I done the truck was starting fine before they repaired the oil seal on that shaft and that’s all they done and park the truck back out front on there lot sent me a message saying come get it bring a tow truck. The following day I was able to fix it myself, and it only took me about four hours before someone informed me of that selection switch they called it or neutral safety switch. That was 23 or 24 years ago learned a lot since then that truck had 42,000 miles on it and was pouring transmission fluid.

That sucks man, sorry to hear you had to deal with that, especially when incompetent techs accuse the customer of doing exactly what they did (mess something up).

Hi Nick, I would like to know what pressures I'll be seeing on my 4L60E? I installed the trans-go SK kit, the corvette apply pistons, a sonnax LB1 boost valve, I shortened the 1-2 accumulator .480 in. blocked the 3-4 accumulator, the 3-2 downshift control valve and the shift valve. I did follow the instructions in the kit. Stock converter, 5.3 L, 3.42 rear gears and I programmed the trans to lock up at 48 to 50 mph. Or would it be better to check the pressures and check back with you? I drove the truck and it shifts like I wanted to, even better! I can add pressure and extend the shift points, but it shifts crisp and firm all thru the gears, so I don't think I gonna do anything else. I have a performance tune in the eng. but I left the trans program stock as far as shift points and pressure! So let me know and I really appreciate all your help!💯👍👍The separator plate looks like it was never used and I over serviced the trans, the fluid was like new and nothing in the pan!

That is the internal switch mine was external on the 2000

Yep, 2009+ was the first year of the IMS...I prefer the externally mounted MLPS as it makes for a much easier quick-swap if the thing shits the bed while you're out and about.
