Enjoyed seeing an example of our family car , 1954 Desoto 'Firedome V-8' . Also my brother's 1959 Cadillac . . . . but , alas not one of my 1964 Dodge D-100 Townwagon . . . . . . . The gals in 'Period - dress' were a nice touch . Thanks ! !

I was hoping to make it out there but it looks like Im not going to make it this year unless its a last minute decision. The flight prices went thru the roof when the gas prices spiked a month and a half ago. They pretty much tripled.

If you are that close you should definitely go. I cant take a car because its 2300 miles away. That would be a costly trip in gas.

Wow! the Voodoo Sahara has got to be one of the wildest customs I’ve ever seen.

What was the cut-off date for that show? I don’t think I saw much of anything newer than 1960. I also noted many of the women, you skillfully didn’t get distracted by, were dressed in 50’s attire, Goodwood like just a decade newer. One last thing I noticed, the car display layout was unique, often forming clusters around the light poles. It certainly allowed a more open view of the cars than the fill every parking space style of most shows. 👍👍

I believe the cut off was 1964 for cars. There is always quite a few that dress up in 1950s attire for the whole 5 days, mostly women though. The car show layout was due to the fact that there was a really light showing (about half of normal) compared to previous years likely due to covd, outside temperature, and that people from overseas could not attend.

how u doing my Bentley owner friend anwser question for me on my 2005 Bentley continental gt I get a P in peranthaces keep popping up on my dash....I wouldn't ask but no owner manual and do you have to replace a thermostat? do you change the hole thermostat housing?

Living proof that the Rockabilly scene as we knew it in the 1980s and 90s is long gone. Yes, VLV (Viva as you posers call it) was once great. Back when the event was held at the Gold Coast Hotel. REAL Rockabillies attended. There wasn't so called "pin up's" . Pretty girls that attended were there for the music - they supported the record hops, walked around the relatively small car show, wore vintage, and were in to the lifestyle. Same can be said for the men. Today, its posing, posing, posing, and millions of picture taking. Stretched ear lobes, women with more tattoos than Brian Setzer, people attending the car with with junky 4 doors, and thousands of johnny come lately's in clothes they bought from Target. Sad.....
