Thanks for sharing this process. Is the roof cover difficult to get off? And did you remove the whole sump to reseal? I’m curious as I’m chasing an oil leak in this area and will probably need to remove the timing cover (and replace the chain etc while I’m in there).

Good job on not releasing the tensioner manually. It has to auto release upon startup Many do that and its incorrect.

Awesome stuff mate thanks for sharing. Did you have to remove the sump/oil pan at all? I'm steering down the barrel of doing this job and wondered if the sump needs to be removed to remove any debris that may be swimming around in there and also if it was possible to remove the front engine cover with the sump still attached. Also I was wondering how you might’ve resealed the sump at the front engine cover junction if the sump was still attached. Any advise would be hugely appreciated before I jump into the fire🔥 and give it a crack.

No need to removed the sump. Yes it is possible to remove the front engine cover with the sump on. I'm just using silicon gasket sealant for sealing. Thank you for watching!🙏

Thanks for the advise. I'm suspecting there maybe plastic from the chain followers in my sump. Will check for debris when I drain the oil. Id appreciate your thoughts?

@@DiYSpanner I'm just about to the part where I need to remove the power steering unit. Does the power steering fluid need to be drained or can the unit be unbolted from the engine with the hoses connected? Really appreciate you help.😉👌

@@DiYSpanner Mate, I really hate to bother you as you have been so helpful already and your probably really busy, but im in a real jam. Im at the point of removing the timing case and i think there is one more bolt to remove. The suspected bolt hole can be seen in your video @ the 6m.28s point. It has a red circle around it adjacent to the fuel supply gear. It appears to be behind the fuel supply unit but the unit cant be removed because the gear and gear bolt sits inside the case. Im having real problems trying to figure this out and the manual i have doesn't explain how to remove it. The timing case is wriggling when I apply pressure but i dont want to force it and possibly crack it. Would you be able to let me know how you got it off please.

Sir ask lang anong oil filter ang dapat sa 4m41, kasi ang akin ang ginamit vic 306, pwed bang sa susunod na change oil ang gamitin ko vic c 313 ? Wala bang maging issue dito?

Hi sir meron ako pajero 4M41 engine, kelan due for replacement ang timing chain? Kagaya po ba sya ng timing belt na need to change after 80k to 100k kms? Im on a 116k kms odo. I wonder if i need to change my timing chain already

Sa alam ko sir, ang timing chain pinapalitan lng kapag maingay na at walang syang specific replacement schedule tulad ng timing belt na kailangan palitan pagdating ng 100k km.

Im shocked so many people think this is right ??? Due to the tensioner being incorrectly fitted this chain isn't going to last, i seen it so many times!
