Thanks Leo creating for creating another fantastic video covering the features ( midi outputs) in Progressions. 🙏😎

Fun video, nice results! I think Progressions is about as good as Scaler 2 right now, and could become even better. Very good job by Paul.

Yes that was fun to do … it is more creative in my view than Scaler 2, or you put in less effort to create experimentation

Great tutorial! I'm learning more about this software. What is that program Grand Staff? I can't find it in the app store. It looks really useful, but I can't find it

Hello, i'm using as a standalone app and also inside Sand but it doesn't send midi signal to hardware synth and expander. Do i need a virtuale mixer like Aum?

So strange that Leo repeatedly switches between block chord and arp modes without ever mentioning whether they can be played together. I've been trying to find a way to do so. Can it be done?

Block chord and arp modes playing at the same time?

Yes, can they play simultaneously and be routed to different midi channels?@@soundformore

I have a Digitone Keys which has 4 synth tracks. I would like to set the Bass Out in Progressions to a different channel than the chords. Using different ports doesn't get me anywhere since I need to get the MIDI notes to the same device, and the tracks on Digitone Keys each have a different MIDI channel. Since there is no direct MIDI channel selection in Progressions, I hoped that each port would use a unique channel: port 1 = channel 1, port 2 = channel 2, etc. but it seems that all ports use channel 1 (bass on port 2 is playing on track 1, along with the chords). Is there a way to change the MIDI channel for a Progressions port within AUM?

Yes through the settings, also check the tutorial on editing arpeggios as it show a quick channel change …

@@soundformore Thanks for your reply. I don't see anything in settings other than port assignment, which has nothing to do with the MIDI channel (as far as I can tell). However, I do see in your arpeggio editing tutorial that it is possible to set the bass channel separately from the chord/arp/strum channel using the button in the arp/strum section of the app, so that allows me to do what I wanted. I would like to suggest that the developer allow chord, arp, and strum to have separate MIDI channels even though they can't be active at the same time--for the same reason that I would like to map these modes to different tracks on my synth. I think the developer was focused on using the app within iPad, where the ports are easily mapped to different instruments in AUM. In the case of an external synth with multiple tracks the key to routing the notes to different tracks is MIDI channel (ports don't help in this scenario). However, the app is very impressive! I'm definitely going to use it a lot. Thanks to the developer, and kudos on an excellent piece of software!

Glad you have a solution for now… I will mention it to the developer…

I was facing the exact same issue. When using it with external synths all notes merge to one channel. Allowing separate midi channels for each mode, even if it's across instances could really open up the usability for hardware synths @@soundformore
