The one thing I love to do more than anything on my birthday is catch a great rock concert. I will turn 61 on October 16th, and I still love alt/indie rock as much as I did when it first burst onto the music scene in the mid/late 70s when I was still in my 20s. I am sampling these guys' music on iTunes and so far, I think I really like what I'm hearing. They are playing here in San Diego on the 16th and tickets are cheap. I think I should go. Age is only a number, by the way. Rock & roll is a bridge gapper, and keeps aging rockers like us feeling young and from the confines of wheelchairs, dementia & nursing homes.

This song and this album got me through senior year of college. Many late nights listening to the Districts on Google Play Music while I worked on projects. Many miles from home, I'd often get dropped off at the station in the middle of the night after taking the Megabus. Love this band.

You can't complain about it as a genre because pop just means popular. Also I quite like Hozier, George Ezra and Bastille and they fit into the category pop.
