Right. These dimensions are only spatial and according to mathematicians are mathematically proven. Time is linear and one way as mentioned present is all we can measure and relativity throws it off. Well to devils advocate my point space is relative too. To your other points. So essentially, the point of dimensional visualisation is that you can only visualise the dimension that you are in. There is no possible way for us to visualise what a 4D world would look like, same as there is no possible way for a 2D being to visualise what a 3D world would look like. Now, we know what a 2D world looks like to US, but there is no way of fully visualising what a 2D world would look like from the perspective of a 2D person, only from our own perspective, which suggests to me that a 4D being would not be able to fully visualise what a 3D world would look like to us, they can only see what it looks like to them on the outside of our 3D world. So it goes both ways and as I claimed from the beginning, a being, no matter the dimensional realm said being lives in, can only 100% visualise the dimension they live in.

Pretty sure ALL of you need to watch the video more closely. First she explains why 2D creatures CAN'T and DON'T exist, stating that there aren't enough directions for the complexity for life to occur. Then she explains why (she believes) 4D creatures are very unlikely to exist. The opposite problem occurs: there is too much space for complex systems to interact and stay attached. At NO POINT does anyone here claim we share a universe with 2D or 4D creatures. If anything, she is describing a multiverse of lifeless universes and comparing it to our populated 3D universe. I think a 4-dimensional creatures cannot look like us, but would have bodies that make them able to exist in that plane. For example, a 2 dimensional creature can't breathe; he's 2-dimensional. He can't have a body made for that. Just the same, we're not able to perceive how a 4-dimensional creature moves around from one place to another, or how they communicate with each other, since space and motion, even atmosphere for sound vibrations, therefore their (physical?) bodies would be very different for those of a 4-dimensional existence. Despite their [higher] existence, I can also see reasons why 4-dimensional creatures might envy us.

I mean of course if you construct your four dimensions with no restrictions, things will just fly appart. But for the same reasons we don't just fly upwards when jumping from two dimensions to three dimensions. In a Four-dimensional world one can gave four-dimensional gravity, which actually would make us move in mostly two dimensions. You can also construct a four-dimensional house or box with boundaries in each dimension that you cannot just leave, with additional floors growing in the 4th dimension. Not infinitely, just like we just don't build infinite floors in the third dimension. The more higher you want to go, the more energy you need, and something very similar can apply to a four-dimensional world.

If we have an object floating in space that experiences gravity of some nearby object, this is represented by a force which is a vector, pointing in the direction of the center of gravity. Vectors as you know have three components in three-dimensional space so we can write our vector as F=(Fx,Fy,Fz), which is basically just an arrow pointing in some direction in 3D space. Now imagine the same scenario but in a 2D space then our force can be written as F=(Fx, Fy). We can also do 1D or 4D. If we have some 4D space with 4 spatial components then our force vectors would be written as F=(Fx, Fy, Fz, Fk) with k being the direction of our fourth axis. Of course this is hard to imagine with our 3D brains, but the math is exactly the same.

They would still experience time but differently than for us, but to us it would look like they do not experience it(because our view of time is based on 3 spatial dimensions and 1 temporal). Why aren’t we considered to be experiencing a 4 dimensional reality? Time is how we travel through the spatial dimensions, which those lower dimensional realities can’t do without time to travel. As we approach the maximum speed of spacetime we become infinitely massive and time itself slows down toward stopping. I can imagine (naively) that a 5th dimensional existence might transcend spacetime, but we’re moving through it. Without time we couldn’t move. If this makes sense to anyone reading along, please know that I’m untrained and probably missing some key concepts, so I’m really asking /why/ we aren’t considered 4D, I’m not suggesting that we change any textbooks just yet 😅

Correct me if I’m wrong but, we do not have anything 2d in our world other than area, a measurement. There is nothing that is physically 2d in our world, we have things that look 2d like stick figures, but even they have depth, just thin ones. That would mean 4th dimension universes wouldn’t look at us like stick figures, they would look at things with a small 4th dimension and say it’s what we look like, even though it’s really just a visual, as that 4th dimension keeps it from going through things like how the edge of paper keeps it from just phasing through us. @@Frizzly007 Dimensions in einsteins relativity are not exactly that straight forward as one might think. I would say that Minkowski spacetime doesn't even use dimensions of space or time. It's observers inside spacetime that will interpret those dimensions as dimensions of space or time. But what they really are I think it's still a mystery, to me at least! I don't think that we can approach Minkowski dimensions in the basic way that we approach normal Euclidean dimensions...

So serious question, if we think of volume as matter taking up a location in space time, and according to what Ive learned is that we cant SEE a large portion of matter,(dark matter), wouldnt it make sense if the matter is there, layered on top of us like a mirrior, but we cant see it because that matter exists in higher deminsions, but we can see it gravitationaly, because gravity effects all deminsions equally, which is why gravity is so weak compaired to other forces, because its spread out over all the deminsions equally, but the other deminsions have other forces that are different then ours which is why we cant see it, I think this also explains ufos, hogher deminsional beings seeming to defy laws of physics because they are, they have different physics in higher deminsions, and what we see is them passing through our 3d wourld from their higher deminsion, so all we see is a slice defying physics. If you can proove this theough math, you win a nobel prize. And i think the solution lies in the volumes of the mass per deminsion, in the 8th deminsion the volums are the same as the 3rd, which is where we see interaction from higher deminsional beings, and if you are able to take the volume of visible matter and then replace the deminsions in the equation for volume until they add up to 100% of what we see gravitationaly, and see if that could work. it might be proof. I'm no mathematician, so just a theory,
