It is true that as human beings we tend to compare our lives with those around us. But isn’t it exhausting? Growing up my mom always compared me to my friends or relatives. I hate it. Now instead of comparing myself to others, I look at my life and figured out how I want to live and ask myself is this enough for me!!! Cuz it doesn’t matter what other people are doing. What do YOU want to do and what makes you truly happy?

Your video speaks to me with how you're going through uncertainty of your future/finances and how sometimes close friends affect you in a way to be better or compare yourself to them. Moved away from California due to enlisting in the military, term is ending soon and not sure where to go career passion wise or even long term financially. I firmly believe you'll get through it as long as you keep that resilience of giving new things a shot and what makes you happy

I grew up in the Bay Area and my parents were immigrants. At a young age, I was taught the value of education to work my way up. Fast forward to now, inflation is crazy and tech industry has taken over the bay, it makes me question if I want to be in a rat race forever. I agree, everywhere I go I hear ppl talk about startups, work, buying houses, stocks, investments. It’s exhausting. When I travel, I notice that life is more than just working. I left my corporate job 2 yrs ago and am self employed now. I am not as overworked, but it still annoys me how ppl are working flat to the ground just to pay their monthly mortgage. Nothing is ever enough. I don’t compare and live life my way. Bay Area is overrated.

You do need money to live until you die anywhere on this globe. I told my child who is attending Cal to study EECS/Aerospace Engineering, please work your butt off and work in tech until you hit mid 40s. Just work about 20 years in tech, you will be able to live life and easy life. Mid 40s still give you plenty of time to live time, career, family, kid. 90% of my friends work in tech and culminate easily $10M or more. They live in nice peninsula with nice house all paid probably. Life is a messed up. We sold one of our house in SF in 2020 in the pandemic, then the stock market dropped then EXPLODED!!! Probably that million dollar cash easily doubled in the stock market. You don’t work hard young age, friends or no friends, money in your acct doesn’t go out style!! Even the KZbinr says she is struggling but she still have those investment properties, that’s asset and planning.

@@ninersnation3298 Not sure if there's misunderstanding here, but my comment never said to not work. It's great a career in tech works for ppl, but the whole world doesn't revolve around tech. There are successful people who work in other industries. You do you.

@@arielzshell I'm a medical provider with my own practice. Not working in tech. Years of working in the hospital system taught me that there are other options in life and I asked myself that same question Jeff Bezos asked. No matter what happens later, I know that if I don't give it a try to be self employed, I would look back and regret.

Your are doing GREAT. 1/ You took the first step to quite from corporate and to explore your options. 2/ Maybe you can narrow down to 2 options and give yourself a few more months to pursue which one will work 3/ You still have some properties, generating some net income 4/ You are still young at 30+. 还有很多机会。Slow and gradual are fine!

Do you think you are a person who changes the mind often? Why do you give up easily?
@arielzshell9 күн бұрын
You caught me there, all those observations are right, and I'm aware. I'm trying to work on it, in the end I think the root cause is my extreme insecurity and not confident in myself (thus easily give up b/c I think I'm not the right one, or not good enough). It's definitely a learning process and continuous growth journey.

You don't have to be completely jobless. Even if not work, can take some part time consulting work 5-10 hours a week at least connected to industry if you have had a few years of relevant experience.

Hi, i live in Austin and own my home here too, I personally feel austin is a small town with only the tech sector, and now the tech sector is laying off. Not to mention, builders are always building new construction in the area, these 2 factors probably caused your rental to not rent out. I am looking to rent out my home soon too and was wondering if you could make a video on how to rent out? thanks!
@arielzshell10 күн бұрын
Sure, I can do a live stream (maybe a video talking about it, I’ll announce it in Community tab So far the only update I get for you is make it as pretty as possible, and be very competitive on the rent. I spent $3500 painting the entire inside wall, doors, repair any thing that has signs of use. And dropped my rent for $150/month

every friend shows their best side on social media, but I believe most of them don't live as well as I do.
I came from Beijing and have lived in BayArea and am living in San Diego now. I am really hoping you can do well. One thing I don't really understand is that why can't you work and do KZbin the same time because they don't really conflict to each other. I don't think it's a great idea to give up a such well-paid job to do KZbin only. Nowadays no many people to watch RV life just because you are doing it. On the other hand, if you did it well, quickly someone would copy the way you do. There is no barrier of entry. Since you are so young, you may need money for another 50-60 years or even longer unless you have all things figured out. I think to live in BayArea you net worth need to be like 10m+.

I do plan to look for job again in 2025. We don’t plan to have kids, so financially I’m ok to take a break. But career wise I do think I should start interviewing again soon. Agree with your points. I was too positive and somehow thought I can be successful at social media.
@davidwan74205 күн бұрын
@@arielzshell Thank you for the update and I think it's a sensible direction. You still can do KZbin while having a full time job. I remember you said you enjoyed your job and people around you were nice. And the pay looks really good to me(since you said in another video). These all together may not happen very often. I like the Japanese book "日日靜好". The 93 year female psychiatrist said something like: it's good to pursue your dreams, but for most of people, the purpose of working is very simple - just to make living and nothing to be ashamed of it. I think she worked till 91 year old.

I've never seen any videos by you or seen your channel, but I wanted to let you know that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. If you put your faith and trust in him you will never have to worry, he provides the ultimate peace. There is so much more to life than work, society, and money, and most importantly there is an eternal afterlife. Romans 10:9-11 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. The end of the age as prophesied in Revelation is coming and Jesus will be coming soon to take his believers from what is to come on this Earth. It is not too late to escape what will come. If you don't accept Christ before then, be of this knowledge and know not to take the mark that will be required to buy or sell. Prophecies from Isaiah, Zephaniah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel are currently in process or on the precipice of occuring. God bless you.
