This is what parkour is about. Expressing yourself through movement...not doing fancy flips. Its an Art. Truly Fascinating

Why do I LOVE parkour vidz MORE when I see people on the street who see these guys flying around, something about regular people seeing them do this gives me more chills, thumbs up if ya agree?

I started Parkour about 4 years ago. Learned everything by watching youtube videos and trying my best to execute the moves as clean and efficient as possible. I then met a couple guys who also did parkour. and from then on we trained together sharing tips and ideas. Tips? hmm for me, having someone to train with was the most vital point in my training. Its important to have a good friend to watch your back and give you feedback on what you are doing. 2 find a good training environment

These people represent the next stage of human physical evolution. Surreal strength, balance, agility, and total control over full-body momentum. All hail the Parkour and trick-jumping (Capoeira) experts!

@masterofthesun127 Everything around us is always traveling in an upward motion, whether it be time, our lives, or progress. Everything being set in a certain motion. When you think about it there is no such thing as decline, only to a point in a direction we view as decline. It's all about viewpoint my friend.

This is why I admire parkour. It isn't like other sports. There's no set goal or point to it. There's a certain freedom about it that other sports just don't have; there IS no limit. It's a non-linear thing in a very linear world, and THAT is why I like it.

Freerunning is the specific term for that which includes the flipping and whatnot. A lot of videos I've seen uploaded by my subscriptions are titled, "Parkour & Freerunning." What I watch is a little bit of both, but I myself am a personal fan of freerunning (they're both really fun to watch since one just has flips along with the creative "get around this obstacle in an unusual manner" thing).

1:37 is a great example of the community mentality in Parkour - Asides from practitioners actively aware of progressing only a little at a time above their given skill level (to minimize accidents), its always important to watch out for your fellow traceurs. The you've got about 3 guys spotting the guy in black, and the blue shirt was ready to catch him should he come short of the precision jump / fall backwards
@vettefan7313 жыл бұрын
@Rjhstriker1 anything with a 1 piece sole, good arch support (nothing slippery like plastic) something light, breathable, and with good ankle support but nothing that inhibits ankle rotation. the best ive had so far were the kswiss ariake but i dont recommend the leather ones, they wear out pretty quick. within 2 months the toes split open. but they do however have a redesigned ariake that seems like that problem was fixed. im probably going to be getting a pair for this season.

I try my best to showcase Parkour movement from all over the world. but because some countries have a more dominant parkour community more of their videos are shown. In my previous video "Worlds best parkour 2010" I showcase more than 10 different countries. including mexico, china, japan, korea, and others... i've just started to make these videos. so im still developing. thanks for your imput tho

@MrTaylorreaves ...parkour is the efficient utilization of natural human kinetic reflexes to overcome obstacles, barriers and voids in one's path to a predetermined location... there is emphasis on efficiency, a principle which acrobatic maneuvers such as flips and tricks seldom adhere to... seldom, but sometimes, for example, in 3:37 Vlad Erovikov does a block front from his lache to precision, this transfer of energy into centripetal force would have generated a great deal of momentum
