I'm kinda the same, I don't play age 2 at all any more, but I've been watching Viper for 5 or so years. Honestly I played around 500 hours of original age 2, a couple hundred in DE, mostly just AI and campaigns as I'm too bad for online. Was watching Viper to try and learn how to play, decided I didn't want to invest the time into that or deal how hard micro is on my poor wrists. I stuck around anyway and continued watching because I enjoy Viper's content. Never fails to make me laugh.

If you think you are too bad fpr online, that mean you will find people who are as bad as you online :) trust me

"Is viper in top 10 of all time"? Absolutely not. Me and all my childhood friends could take vipey easy. He's pretty good at the basics sure, but I've never seen him use any advanced tactics like "lumber jack", "rock on", "furious the monkey boy", "how do you turn this on", etc.
