What a way to start the trip! We drive Mt Sunday Road which made us a little scared of rolling or dinting our cars and the Troopy broke before the trip even started!

Get yourself a bit of 200mm 1/2 inch copper pipe, bend the end over to seal it, drill some tiny holes in it in a line for like 50mm and then attach some garden hose on the other end with a hose fitting and you now have a little wand that you can get around the fan and such to wash it out 🤙

Try doing it in the wet. The rocks are too slippery to walk in places. We took 2 GQs up there, rained nonstop, took 12 hours. Had to saw a complete tree that dropped across the track. I blew a tire 1/2 way up that long hill. Needed 2 winches to hold the car to change the wheel. Most fun you can have with your clothes on.

Here we go, haha, i did this track on my own a few years back and it destroyed me mentally. I was driving my ute chopped Suzuki Jimny, 27.5" muddies 3" lift, rear locker and reduction gears; boy the winch got a work out on two sections. 16min in that section of track is amazingly off camber, I took the left track and nearly made it up the last step, second attempt picked a massive wheel lift and bonked the tree with the bar. Car was then at a crazy angle as i eased her back to a semi stable point and just ran the winch. Was not worth pushing it; mind you it was damp so those rocks were slippery. 33 min that was the second section i winched, just little tyres couldnt making a good start so i just winched 3 times up, by that point I was knackered and broken. As i got to the top it started to pore with rain. That was one tough track to tackle on your own; definitely not one many people frequent, the bush was scratching hard against both sides of the Suzuki at times. Would love to do it again with a couple other people though. The footage does no justice to how steep and crazy some of those sections are. Great job guys.

Adam, I can see you are still learning to pick lines - instead of hitting rock shelves square-on all the time, such as the climb up Mt.Sunday tk, try turning at the last minute and putting one front wheel over at a time, then quickly spin to the opposite lock to straighten up. The auto lokka in the front allows you this flexibility to place either front wheel exactly where you need it and still be assured 100% traction. Trying to bounce both front and rear axles at the same time is only making it hard on you and the Troopy.

The easiest way to cut wood is to take a car tyre with you and stand the log in the tyre and chop the log into the pieces you want. Leave the log in the tyre until you have cut the whole log up otherwise it won’t work

The FP losing pressure on a weird angle is a common issue in the hdt. As soon as you hit a bad angle, it loses some pressure, causes a stall from a lack of fuel . Issue was fixed in the ft and FTE pumps though
