Me too. 2015 Dmax with 170 000km. Oil and filter changed every 5000km. Both fuel filters changed every 10 000km (OEM and 30 micron prefilter). A splash of Fuel Doctor every second fill up. Hopefully looking at 400 000km minimum before looking at replacing. Hence the above injector query.

Got me a Nov 2013 build LS-U. Love it! Cracked the 200k mark a few weeks ago. No problems at all. The thing is a donkey...just works and works and works! None of that electric driver aid crap and no DPF thank F. I want to get it to 500k but will take a while! 4JJ1 and 5 spd auto are a perfect match.

Dec 2013 LSM dual cab DMAX. Pre DPF, Over 220 000 kms, well maintained and no issues. Yes, Auto cooler upgrade, Intercooler upgrade purely for maintaining motor longevity. Like any vehicle Maintenance is the key, abuse any vehicle and you will have problems. Very happy with my DMAX. Good honest Ute.

Used to have a 2015 LS-T in the family, put more than 210,000klms on it and the only issues were a rattle from a loose screw behind the glovebox and a leaky trans cooler line right on 200,000klms. Apart from that absolutely perfect, very reliable and couldn't fault it at all

Had a hilux dakar, was good then got hijacked in RSA. Now own 2018 Dmax. Id own only toyota or isuzu. As a person who worked at ford and sold vehicles there, id never go with anything else besides hilux or dmax. No ute is perfect but id say toyota and isuzu are just about as close as you can get to the perfect ute. And all the years of Graham abusing the dmax and it kept going id say that says it all. Informative video though.

Yeah I'm the same, Hilux (especially the N70) or Dmax. Unless you jump up to a ute Cruiser or Patrol. But tbh it's almost like every year Graham gets a new Dmax so yeah, seems to be in my eyes they treat them more like rental cars vs their own like his patrols. I do miss the old 2nd Gen one he used to have.

@AdmissionGaming I stand to be corrected, but I do think he replaced it every 2 years and only had 2 or 3 different ones. However, yes, he did drive it like a rental, and no, it never left him stranded, always start and go.

Mate, good video and I have enjoy these theme videos. However, I think your review this time had a very negitive vibe. A few of us watched this vid together and we all felt it made the DMax sound like a piece of crap, the old mate then made it like a contradiction in commenting "the best Dual cab and virtually no warranty returns". I've had 2 DMax's and 3 Toyota's including a 70 series and I research all extensively prior purchase - I'm a bit ADHD like that .Just a few pointers Jessie. 1. The Turbo replacement was an upgrade eventually but suffered a similar issue. Google it and you will see the 3rd generation of Turbo solved the issue. 2. It was a bit of an assumption I think in view of you stating there is no DPF burn button. The reason Toyota introduced this button was due to the many issues they had with the DPF due to lack of open road burns. The Isuzu 3L engine technology on the DPF is much better. The first thing you will note on inspection is the location of the DPF, much closer to the exist of hot gases opposed to the location of the DPF on Toyota. The DPF will do a burn at 40k in traffic. I know this as I know have a 2024 model. My 70 series needed a open road run generally over 80k per hr. Hence no requirement in the DMax for a manual burn and you will find it very difficutlt to find data on DPF burn issues with a DMax / MUX engines. Google Hilux / Prodo burn issues and you will be smashed with results. 3. The body cracking is rare. The 150 series Prado was notorious for the same isse. 4. Injectors at how many K's - a bit misleading mate. My last DMax had 270+ K's and injectors still in spec. 5. 6 Speed transmission - hmmm, not in my experience but I do have less than 20,000K on this model so I'll give you that one 🙂 Good review on the Interior well done there. Don't take it to heart mate - I enjoy your vids mate, most are cracka's. The over whelming response of comments in view of how well owner vehicles had done with their vehicles - IMHO - is a response to the feel the DMax was a problem vehicle. Personal I feel the vid would have kick a goal for us if you had made more comment about the frequency of the issues. In view of the DPF button, mate, as above, there is a good reason or this and you missed this reason completely. There you go mate - I beleive it is important to leave constructive comments when needed. In view of this, its the only vid of yours I have been critical of, so keep up the good work. Cheers mate. I look forward to further vids. Oh, no-one can critisise your wheeling skills mate - some of your committments on the track scares the POO out of me 🙂 It's not my intention to upset you buddy - so I hope you take the comments as not personal but general comments of a review.

I have only done 80,000 Kilometres and the vehicle has been off the road for 10 to 12 weeks on warranty issues. I forgot to mention I have also noticed an issue with the auto transmission , until the auto has warmed up I experience some flaring . I had the transmission serviced recently and my mechanic asked if I had been towing or doing heavy off road work as the fluid was black. Not getting much help from the Isuzu Dealer. Yeah use to fly the Isuzu banner proud till I sold my RC Colorado a year ago for my current 80 series. Loved my Collie (basically the Gen 1 Dmax) and my folks love their 2016 MuX and 2017 Dmax (basically the last of the 5 speeds). Only things I can sin the Dmax on is on the manuals, first gear is geared pretty high so quite easy to stall it if on an incline with a bit of a load on. And also the clutch release point is quite high up too.

I have a 2014 Dmax. It has snapped 3 cvs in 6 months of owning the car. They have snapped inside the wheel hub every time. Is there anyway I could help stop snapping cvs. I'm running a 2 inch lift

I can’t think of anything worse than driving an Isuzu or Toyota for long. They may be reliable but so dull and boring. If running coat is all that matters they are for you, but there’s so many better vehicles to drive that I could never own either brand

I think depreciation is also a factor they are dull and boring but they get the job done us farmers want things that are tried and tested. Not the latest technology that crap breaks and doesn’t last long.

Had a 2015 Dmax and it had a couple of annoying issues. The braked traction control was just rubbish. Like total horse shit. Would simply bog the engine to the point of stalling without actually transferring the power to the wheel with traction as it was supposed to do. Got stuck a couple of times because of it. Tried the same thing in my older D40 Navara and the rear LSD was more than enough to get me out every time. Even had issues trying to take off form a stand still up a very slight incline with passenger side wheels on wet grass and drivers side on the road. Had to reverse once my neighbour moved his car. What a joke for a 4x4. Also had a EGR fail at 98,000km and it took Isuzu 4 weeks to repair under warranty, simply no parts available in Australia at the time. Otherwise it was decent on fuel, and reliable otherwise. If it had decent rear LSD would be enough to fix 90% of my issues with the damn thing, but at the time it was enough (with the EGR sealing the deal) to sell it.

Not actually chassis cracks - the cracks are actually taring or the inner panels. The Prado (I beleive 150 series) was nortorious for it. Rare to see on the DMax and can be premiturely brought on by suspecsion and mount changes.
