I tried switching carlos alberto for a 96 (and switching donnarumma for schmeichel) and got 97 rating. But that was with Messi in the team.

So the averages for the 2nd draft DEF: 96.0 MID: 97.7 (97.666 rounded up) ATT: 97.0 BENCH: 92.9 (92.85 rounded up) OVERALL: 95.9 Interestingly, a 97 schmeichel would have given you a guaranteed 97 rated starting XI, it was the 92’s on the bench that brought the whole thing down. Still though, best draft I’ve seen of the entire game cycle EDIT: apologies for the immature name, I made it when I was 10 😂

In the pick where nep chose messi 97, if he’d have taken mane I think it would’ve resulted in a higher midfield overall, draft ends with a 90 attack, 84 midfield and a 88 defence, midfield on bench and reserves were only pires 90 and the terrible 78 gold, just theory but can’t explain otherwise such a low midfield score at end. Mane LM lessens the impact of the low gold being 1/6 midfielder instead of 1/5

I feel like we're over-complicating the draft rating system. It wouldn't make sense if you could manipulate the rating of the draft, especially considering all the position changes this year. For example, I don't believe that swapping a 99 beckham from CM to ST would have an effect on the draft's rating.

I was thinking about the ovr rating calculation. While the concept of averaging the attackers, midfielders, defense, and bench, each with a 25% weight is interesting - there is simply no way the system works like that. Have you ever moved your starting lineup around and gotten a different overall rating as a result? We would’ve seen this at least one time. The rating system is not formation dependent, using the discussed formula. It was a cool idea for a minute, though.

In the 4x99 draft if you put Naschenweng to LB, Grimaldo at CM and Beckham up top instead of Cruyff , overall draft rating goes up by 0.2. Still not 97 but something to consider.

That was so close! If you had 97 schmeichel and two 96+ rated bench player instead of two 92, you could definately hit 130! If the starting 11's average rating is 97, you need atleast 94.85 average rating on the bench which equal to x6 95 and one 94 card.

Maybe an idea for a draft challenge for this last week or so could be do 5 drafts picking a single nation each draft and see if you can make a full 11 and which one is higher rated. I worked out that draft to have a rating of 95.8 (I rounded down on a couple of things to get to 1 decimal). So seemed a small bit away. If you had got 97 Schmeichel then it would have went upto 96.1. It was the bench that you needed a bigger improvement on.

I think captains matter too. If you choose the captain from the latest promo then you have higher chance to get latest cards

Assuming the position theory is correct if you used a 1 striker formation and got a 99 rated striker all you would need is a 96 rated midfield a 95.5 rated defence and a 94 rated bench in order to reach a draft of 96.1 which I believe would be the 130 still extremely hard however possible

Just did the maths Attack 97+99+95=291/ 3 =97 Midfield 99+99+95=293/3 =97.667 Backline 97+95+97+99+92=480/5=96 Bench 92+93+94+92+93+94+92=650/7=92.857 Altogether 92.857+96+97.667+97=383.524/4=95.881 So not even a 96 rated??😱😱
