I went into grind mode for comday gaining just under 1.3 mil dust and about 2.5 mil xp. Excellent throws ftw Also ended with 41 shinys. As always great video! 😊

Yep, the comm day backgrounds have been pretty bad. I've seen a lot of people say backgrounds overall are a waste, which I disagree with--things like the Team backgrounds and the wormholes were badass! But the comm day ones have been soooo uninspired.

The wormhole one that combines with the event Solgaleo or Lunala & then forms an entirely new background once fused is OP in my opinion. I love that! But yes, this specific one is a bummer for sure.

@@ayyylexa_ For sure! Even the december comm day one felt the most like an ad, it literally advertised the comm day on the background lol like I was there, I played it, I don't need it to say that--it already does in the summary at the bottom of the mon! Just give me a cool design!

No story, costs twice as much, have to walk 3km, the research tasks are harder and required party play. The backgrounds are already played out and pointless. Niantic sucks as always. On top of the shiny being weak, the pokemon itself is basically useless in pve/pvp, and it looks like a creepy furry. Solid xp/dust is only upside.

I'll be honest, I'm not really vibing with the backgrounds for com day pokemon. It's nice for like, locations of in person events and the paid big events because those are like, things that it feels like the entire season is building up to. But now trying to entice us to get a background of community day pokemon is just another thing to clutter up storage. I have one of each of the december com day backgrounds from the free 12 day research and they are all terrible and I dont even know that I care to hold onto them. It's not like an interesting background or special pokemon like the ultra beasts having their wormhole behind them or a catch card of the city and event came it, it just looks like crappy wrapping paper.
