I think this scene really contributes to her character and the true role of witches. Bonnie acknowledges that her task isn’t just to light up candles or close doors, and she knows she has the duty and power to uphold the nature’s balance. With that being said, she is a very powerful character who put the common good above her own happiness and it shows her strong will even with Kol who always had witches wrapped around his fingers.

Preach! And this is exactly why she's been my most favorite since the first time I saw her in episode 1 of the entire show. That and also lighting up candles, breaking bones and breaking spells amongst other things of course.😅 She totally got him good😂

Kind of ironic that she's all about keeping up the balance whilst using the darkest and most vile kind of magic there is at this exact point. You gotta give it to her - she's one of the few witches on all three shows who successfully resisted the pull of dark magic and still kept her head clear. Davina, Eva Sinclair, Josie, Esther, so many of them went too far with it but Bonnie was still all about the order of nature.

@@LydiaIsSweet this is so true like I like bonnie and enzo but the relationship can out of nowhere especially when enzo and caroline where flirty in season 5 like she really just gave us bonnie and enzo so bonnie stans would stop coming at her for not giving bonnie love. The crazy thing about is it no disrespect to candice but nobody was talking about being paired with caroline she just gave her everyone and ot did nothing for the plot but u had multiple ppl pitch to be with bonnie like ian and Joseph 2 of the biggest stars on the show and julie said no. She just never wanted bonnie or kat to be happy and it's sad

@@Strawberrie. i only see facts. it's also one of many reasons i couldn't get into bonnie/enzo, it was just a pity ship because as you said people were starting to get pissed about julie's blatant racism and just "dehumaniziation" of bonnie. and yeah people were literally campaigning for bonnie to get an interesting love interest/relationship every season... klaus, kol, kai, damon... even if I don't really like all of them but that's beside the point. and what did she get? a random step-brother and jeremy who cheated on her with a ghost, WHAT THE FUCK. and the "dude hopping" for caroline EVERY SEASON was just unnecessary and cringe, it didn't serve the story at all and reduced her to a love interest - but she was julie plec's self insert as well as elena, her dream is to be in a harem. honestly the way the plague and her minions write female characters is gross. she didn't want bonnie to shine AT ALL. and yet this white racist cow keeps getting new shows, i can't.

@@LydiaIsSweet yes the step brother situation was so stupid I hated when she did that. And fun fact originally we were suppose to get bonnie and klaus as a ship but julie immediately shut. So many ppl shipped bonnie and klaus and it started around 2011 when they would flirt with tweets and would often talk about how the klonnie fanbase is huge. But when julie heard the up roar of klonnie stans she immediately shut that down even when the showrunners where down to give us klonnie and gave us caroline as a love interest which made no since bc bonnie had more direct interactions with klaus than caroline did. Especially them kind of getting a mikaelson x bennet family storyline with esther using bonnie and abby to help kill her children it would have made more since for his love interest to be bonnie. Like I was so upset when I didn't see bonnie at the mikaelson ball bc it would have been perfect for esther to have the conversation she had with elena with bonnie no to mention Esther's best friend/mentor was a Bennett witch. But instead we got klaroline something Joseph didn't even want. I have so many video that proves Joseph was team klonnie before julie gave him caroline. Even in season 4 I say a video he did with Michael Trevino when he was still talking about expression bonnie coming to the dark side with klaus and that storyline idea would have honestly saved season 4 from that dump damon and elena sire bond storyline . I even read from a tvd blogger that we where suppose to get a bonnie and klaus scene when that were at the witch house that julie cut out. She just completely shifted the original storyline just bc she is a racist pig that did want bonnie ot kat graham the spotlight like u said .

@@Strawberrie. oh, i didn't know all that about klaus and bonnie! i only knew that joseph really seemed to like it, but basically every guy in the cast wanted to work with her so i'm not surprised lmao. i personally prefer kol much more as a character than klaus and i think he had more in common with bonnie, but that's just my preference. and yes wth why was she not at any of these events like the first ball thing in s1 and then the mikaelson ball??? julie plague just didn't want people to see her dressed up and pretty smh... there's no word that's rude enough to describe that woman. and the way they really tried and sell this 'klaus is obsessed with caroline' thing out of nowhere was so cringe... like huh? they barely talked before and he's supposed to be this menacing villain but i can't take him srsly when he's there simping for teen girls. geez.
