4X4 ROOF RACK SLIDE OUT SOLAR PANEL IDEA

solar panel modification i've done to my 1996 fzj80 turbo. using a heavy duty draw slide i've mounted a solar panel underneath my roof rack.

Where did you find the slide out assembly? I have a similar one for my fridge but I like that larger one

I brought it from a company called Concept Fasteners in Australia - its 225kg size

How does the panel go under the rack when not loaded with stuff mate

120watt panel. I get about 2 to 3amp in full sun under rack. Enough to keep the battery topped up. Not enough to run fridge full time. When out it's 8amps roughly.

the roof rack shadows the panel, having it roll out stops this... i didnt want to mount it on top because i load p the roof when travelling
