I did not know you made other videos. I found your channel because I just pulled a Ranger xlt with a V-6 out of a mud pit on a New Jersey Farm and the frame had holes that I could easily stick my fist through. A lot of time and welds and I have it to a place that it is easily drivable and I built a flatbed for it. I really love the truck. I am mounting a Miller Roughneck welder on the back with a crane , a drill press and a vise.

This is exactly what I want to do with my Ranger. It has been sitting for the last year while I have been recovering from getting run over while riding my 1957 Harley. I want to do the leaf spring conversion and not the coil spring crap. I found a Miller Bobcat 225 that I am mounting on the back for my mobile welding business.

Donor ‘sploder (mountaineer) purchased. It’s a huge pile of shit, but it runs well. Diving in, thanks for the tips and tricks!

I love the truck man! Huge inspiration for my build. I have a 99 and am building a Dana 44 from an early bronco, and will hopefully pull the trigger on an explorer 5.0 after the axle is in. I was wandering what you pulled the trans out of? That’s what is holding me back, as I do want to keep it a 5 speed 4x4.
@austinkoceja3 жыл бұрын
Trans came out of a 91 f150

Looks like it needs re-arched rear leafs, or some lift leafs. Wheel's definitely not centered in the arch.

I have come to the conclusion that I don't have the time, money or patience to do a swap on my Ranger....lol. Wonder how much I would have to pay someone else to do it for me....

…or you could buy one already done…. With a v8… red …..on 35s…..

This is exactly how I wanted to build my ranger. It will be done in the future but rn I’m just working on putting a 4.0 in it. I blew the rod bearings on my 2.3 so wanted to put a 4.0 in it. Any tips?
@austinkoceja2 жыл бұрын
I don’t really have any tips, the 5.0 was a really easy swap I’m sure the 4.0 is the same I don’t know about from a 2.3 though

What solved your clutch engagement issue, I am having the same problem with my swap
@austinkoceja Жыл бұрын
It was air in the system, I didn’t believe people when they said it’s hard to bleed it, i had to bench bleed every thing a few times. It was a nightmare

What did you have to do for wiring man. The 5.0 i have is out of a mustang so i know ill have to change oil pickup tube and pan
@austinkoceja2 жыл бұрын
Wiring was plug and play since I swapped from an explorer everything is the same on a ranger. I only had to wire 3 wires myself since 1 plug needed up being female on both ends.

What did you do for steering box and steering linkage?
@austinkoceja2 жыл бұрын
I used a 95 Toyota pickup box their pretty common for any build like this. Then I used a barns4wd universal heim joint high steer kit.
