The charming part of dunking rely heavily on the hang-time, which is proportional to the vertical jumping height, which means higher vert leads to better dunking ability. Here, the maximum vertical should be achieved without "any" support, or the entire "purity" would be flawed. Of course, the hide-and-seek dunk is amazing! But you can see from the vids of Jordan Kilganon's dunks that best ones of his dunks are push-offs, such as scorpion, push-off windmill, etc. Think about this: we use a man as a push-off support, how about a trampoline? how about some kind of booster on the sneakers? The greatness of these high flyer is our worship to pure athleticism and longing for defying gravity. To me, dunking with outside support is like cheating.
