Any thoughts to check-jamming the turn 3-handed with jacks? Once you decide to call the turn bet it's really tough to fold to any river bet unless you're hoping he fires again with ace high.

I'm currently in my last semester at FSU in the Digital Media Production Program and I know exactly what it feels like to have multiple videos to produce and edit with demanding deadlines. Just got gotta think about the bigger picture and how everybody will enjoy your work. I know it seems tough but in my opinion the final product makes it 100%worth it. Like taxes, insurance, retirement, how you go about "working hours", how you stay disciplined (off the felt) with spending and decision making such that you can manage to live this kind of life, staying connected to the rest of the world, etc etc. Thank you, and keep up the great work!

JJ - with a dry board of 772 standard call. The 4 on the turn didn't change anything. The btn bets 460 and you have 700/800 left, it's better to ship it there. He most likely calls with one card to come. The main reason you should ship it there is because if he ships it on the river you still call, so your in the same spot. If you just call and the river is an A-K-Q and he ships it you probably fold so by shipping it on the turn you eliminate the chances of that scenario. I like shipping on the turn with over pairs unless your certain your beat.
@PapaCharlie97 жыл бұрын
I agree. Villain is folding to a ship on the turn everything he's checking/giving up the river with, so you don't lose anything. The gain comes from getting all the money in when he calls with a worse pair, that he might fold to a scare card on the river. If Villain has AA-QQ, you were doomed to lose your stack anyway.
@moeduh7 жыл бұрын
ctrevino1 hmmm, very few worse value hands villain takes that line and stacks off on turn with. is he bet, bet/call off with some TT or AK? maybe sometimes. if he picked up nut spades on the turn he's calling off as well... but on the flip side, we shut out his airballs that potentially go for the river jam. remember, villain still has a range advantage on the turn given both his and Andrews lines up to that point. in general it's UNfavorable to jam non nut value hands into stronger ranges. I think I'd prefer a jam in that spot from Andrew with a hand like KQss instead, or 56ss, etc. I might be off on this one though. curious to hear what ole Neeme thinks.
@PapaCharlie97 жыл бұрын
"we shut out his airballs that potentially go for the river jam" Very true. I'm just not sure how much bluff range there is on that board texture. It's also worth considering how much overcards in the Villain's 4b range would call a jam on the turn? If Villain is barreling with AK, KQ, AJ, QJs type hands, would those call a jam on the turn? Another thing to think about is how much A7-Q7 is in Villain's 4b range. If there is a lot (there would be for me), jamming the turn is best.
@AndrewNeeme7 жыл бұрын
I prefer to keep his range wide going into the river and don't think I have to worry too much about denying equity on that runout. It's tough to know though, because I'm not sure how wide his 4b range is.

on the JJ hand, i think 180bbs in a spot with wide ranges (short handed or SB vs BU) is a good spot to turn JJ/KQo into 5bet "bluff" jams. they have good removal and dont block the A2-5s + you could get QQ/AQ/maybe even AK to fold. Otherwise you just play with an awkward SPR out of position like you mentioned. Around 250bb+ I think flatting becomes better.
@PapaCharlie97 жыл бұрын
I agree, particularly with the cold caller's dead money in there already.
@lukec1547 жыл бұрын
I would jam the turn. If he has QQ KK AA then hes shoving the river for value and youre calling it down if it bricks out anyway, but by jamming you could protect against AK/AQ type hands incase a bad card rolls off on the river
@PapaCharlie97 жыл бұрын
If you are talking about the last AQ hand, the 3-handed one, I agree. Turn play should be based on anticipated river play. If you are calling any bet on the river, might as well jam the turn.
@blahblah18757 жыл бұрын
Luke Cage no way..if he has QQ KK or AA he can get away with that on a river shove..in actually fine with that line
@lukec1547 жыл бұрын
@christopher it all depends on your stack:pot ratio.. in most cases though im jamming the turn but if ive got more than a pot size bet left behind id flat and reevaluate on the river
@PapaCharlie97 жыл бұрын
"if he has QQ KK or AA he can get away with that on a river shove" ... if that's the plan, Andrew should be folding to the check/raise on the turn. Or jamming. I think calling planning to fold the river is the worst line. Villain check/raising the turn was a leveling gamble. If Andrew is the type that that's always folding tptk there, it's a bad move. But if it induces a jam, it's magic. Compared with a line where Villain just leads turn and river, Andrew's calling the river will depend too much on what it is. Plus, if Andrew just checks back the turn -- probably the more likely scenario -- Villain could lead for 1/2-2/3 pot on a blank river and expect to be called. Risky turn move for potentially more value.
@amigojones59627 жыл бұрын
PapaCharlie9 does villain ever re - raise that flop with aa, kk, qq, even 2 pair? with the line that played..I think if andrew labled players TAG, NIT, PAG, FISH..The overall line to follow or correction would have to be based on player type due to re-raise

Do you think the Aria is the toughest place to play in Vegas? My buddy hates to play there because he says it's infested with pros
@AndrewNeeme7 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's the easiest. Regulars like to play in places with great service, amenities, and low rake. Aria fits the bill for all of those. But you can still play there and pick your spots.
@bluntedcorleone36287 жыл бұрын
Hands down, the Aria is toughest room in Vegas that i've played. I play 1/3 and 2/5 and the tables are always hyper aggressive. The service is good but the last time I was there I tried to order a Wild Turkey and they were having none of it. As far as bourbon goes, you'll get Jim "Glorified petrol" Bean, that's it. The Venetian is like the opposite of Aria. Super nitty games, slow service, but you can still order premium drinks.

@11:00 For the pre-flop play with the jacks, you'd need to be including them in some sort of counter-exploitive value jamming range to get them in that deep; otherwise, your calling range there is very face up. It also might help you jam more frequently and help the BB to cold call more frequently if you and the BB have deeper effective stacks than you and the button player. Multiway exploitive play! Fun stuff, for sure :) Another bit to consider is that even on great boards you're going to see at least 4 cards, so your opponent is realizing a ton of equity with whatever he has, so that incentivizes you to be a more aggressive pre-flop, even with stacks the way they are here.
@AndrewNeeme7 жыл бұрын
I tend to call with the vast majority of my non-bluffing range to the 4b there. Do you think that's bad?
@Pokersprout7 жыл бұрын
There isn't enough room to 5 bet and fold for this hand, so I definitely like your analysis of the pre-flop play. It isn't bad not to jam pre-flop with some of your hands, but it is less than optimal because you negative yourself the strategic option of bluff jamming, or semi-bluff jamming, if that makes it feel safer :) When you've ramped up the pre-flop aggression, especially 3 handed, that type of approach will force your opponents to turn JJ into a monster for you. If they simply wait until they have a great hand to 4 bet, you're taking pots down pre-flop and post-flop so often that you're paying off the times that they may be waiting for something like QQ/AKs.

Played the JJ hand fine imo. Jamming the turn folds out his bluffs and gets you snapped off by QQ+ so I definitely think calling down is better although stack sizes are awkward. A river jam is probably a fold unless you think this opponent is capable of a triple barrel bluff where his range looks super strong and his sizing looks like value town.

I'm not sure what you mean by decent comps. Most poker rooms give $1 or $2 per hour towards restaurants. They also do a poker room rate, like if you play for 6 hours a day you get a special rate. You'll have to call around to inquire about that.

Andrew just curious.......do you give the cashier a tip every time you cash out? It looks like you leave a bill every time.

As long as they're friendly and efficient, sure I throw a buck. Not a big deal either way.

Hey Andrew, Do you find the poker is better late at night than during the day? Love your vlogs. Keep em coming. Love the shirts too!
@AndrewNeeme7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris! Yeah games tend to be better at night. More gambling going on means better games.

Keep it up guys, both your vlogs are great.

Cool videos Andrew. Can you make a vlog in which you discuss live reads?

Hey Andrew. Love watching your vlog from Japan! Just one question though, how do you keep track of your hands record in a live game? For example like the size of your bet, your position, opponent's bet size, all the cards on the board including the suits, etc. Just wondering how you are able to go through some of the hands after grinding. Keep up the good work!!

He mentioned in another video that he just takes notes on his phone the details of the hands he plans on relaying in the vlog

Andrew you and all the well known poker vloggers should hold a game where you battle it out.

Andrew do you plan on playing in the main event this year?

Leaning towards yes.

I think the turn is a check jam with your JJ if you don't want to fold. When you are beat on the turn and the river is a brick, you're losing it all anyway. Getting in on the turn makes sure you get the money in when good and protect yourself when you are ahead vs overcards or a draw. The way it played out he basically got a free roll with his overs and escaped with his draws and occasional underpairs.

I'm not a big fan of putting in 180 BBs 3 handed with JJ. I think most of the time you are either flip or crushed. How often are you crushing your opponent's range of 1010, 99, A 10?
@PapaCharlie97 жыл бұрын
Three-handed JJ is a monster. He should be crushing most of the 4bers range. Plus, there is dead money from the cold caller in the pot, so flipping is +ev. There's a lot more AK-AQ in the 4bers range than AA-QQ.

Hey Andrew, quick question. Did you go to North or South, I'm going to south right now and I just realized that you grew up in Grosse pointe too.
@AndrewNeeme7 жыл бұрын
I went to North. How's life in Grosse Pointe? What year are you?
@PmanProductions1007 жыл бұрын
In all honesty, pretty boring to what life in vegas seems like. And I'm a junior this year
@AndrewNeeme7 жыл бұрын
Yeah you probably have various classes you're not interested in and not a ton going on around town. But good to see some positive new developments in Detroit. Also, don't be in too much of a hurry. Vegas and elsewhere will always be there once you're done.

Those links to Brad's site never showed up on my screen. I'm guessing swinging over to a 2-5 might have been a good move but would have meant a longer session and it looks like you were getting on the tired side of things.

It was an ok spot in the 5/10. I also just felt like continuing the push at the higher stake.
