Harry Sinded has said many times there was effectively no difference between the Rangers and Boston. They were as good as them. Of course, Boston had Orr.

@@dzanier The Bruins had pretty much dominated the Rangers during the 1971-72 regular season. The Rangers did very well taking Boston to a sixth game in the finals.

@@Lava1964 They sure did. With Jean Ratelle gone for the two previous rounds, New York beat Montreal and Chicago. That, alone, is unreal. Then they overcame a 5-1 deficit in game one, only to fall 6-5 on an Ace Bailey goal late in the contest. Ratelle did play in the finals, but clearly was crippled. The Bruins also got an excellent performance by EJ, who ended up leading the postseason in S%.
