I actually used this bad to fit all of my uniforms/boots/clothes + a fair bit of gear and personal items on a recent PCS move from Ft.Bliss to Germany! Even with pretty much everything I owned inside it, the weight was still decently manageable lugging around. Definitely recommend this bad for all my military folks out there 👍

The bottom of this bag is technically for storing clothes that you don’t want folded up. Thats why there’s a zippered section beneath your rifle. That goes over the clothes and zips up. The two compression straps are to keep the clothes from flopping around while the bag is moved around. That space does work well for storing rifles, but it was designed around clothing.

Hmmmmm very tempting. I could do with a big gear bag for weekend events and filming. Plus I could attach all my useless uk issue pouches to the inside for organisation.
@magaz4 жыл бұрын
I'd definitely recommend it! if a pouch is useless it just means you have to buy something new to put in it... Since recording this review I have noticed one issue though. When it's full. There is no way it's going up stairs anywhere with me. Massive downside seeing as my local is two floors up :)

Whats it like actually pulling along as a trolley? As it has no extendable handle?
@magaz Жыл бұрын
It depends how tall you are and how heavy you have it packed. I’m 5’4 and fill it to the brim. I find dragging it with both hands behind me is the easier for the weight but it does clip my heels more often than trying the one handed drag method. NB tactical has just released their take on this bag that has an extended handle. I’m not 100% on whether having the handle would help drag it if it is filled to capacity though
@Multilive10003 жыл бұрын
How is it when you carry it trough the mud? Are the wheels holding up when doing that?
@magaz3 жыл бұрын
I couldn't really give an honest answer about mud, the closest i've had to mud is cobbled streets. It wasn't too bad on those, a little bumpy, it's been bounced up and down curbs, crossing roads and the wheels are holding up fine.

As much as I crave this bag, I just can't justify the price right now, my pockets are still burning from laying out for my MARS. Are there any similar bags out there that act as holdall and AEG case?
@magaz4 жыл бұрын
To be honest, I’m not really sure. I was holding out on buying this thing for years. It was always one of those “one day I’ll say duck it and buy it” things (dick was an autocorrect. Made me laugh so it’s staying) in all honesty I’m still trying to justify the price to myself. If I’d picked it up pre Rona, it would have had a lot more use and have started to justify it being millions of monies... still love it though!
@gamernick15334 жыл бұрын
@@magaz appreciate the response, I'm glad I bought my gear during rona knowing what I was getting into, my brother bought in just as lock down started and waited months to play with the new toys lol. I've looked all over and just can't find anything quite like it. Even looked at areas that might have something similar like from fishing and photography gear. The closest I can' find that could be adapted arr lighting rig cases. Just want to be able to hold my rifles, clothes, PPE and plate carrier, wouldn't have thought it would be such a rare type of item!

Can I roll this on a hiking trail though? Will the wheels handle outdoor terrain?
@magaz3 жыл бұрын
The closest I’ve got is cobbled street, it was a bit bumpy and Conan be easy to tip over going up and down curbs, especially if it’s full full. It depends how rough the terrain is, it would be a challenge. But the wheels should be tough enough to handle it.

Interesting item and great review! Two questions, if you don´t mind: Those carbon rods which initially come loosely inside the bag, are they absolutely necessary, or can you load out the bag without them, too? And is it possible to get more dividers for the main compartment than just those two - maybe from a different party than 5.11?
@magaz5 ай бұрын
The rods are just there to give the back a little more rigidity. I would say it's entirely feasible to use it without them. I haven't looked into dividers before, A quick googs gives me a bunch of results on case dividers that are a similar design. You could look into camera bag dividers too. They are a similar design, usually a little more flexible with velcro edges.
