1.ii) explanation (transitive): Transitive relation means if ‘a’ is related to 'b' and if 'b' is related to 'c'. Then 'a' is related to 'c'. Note: we need to check the relation from a to c only if there exist a relation from a to b and b to c. Else no need to check. Example: {(1,6),(6,4),(1,4)} is transitive Here 1 is related to 6, 6 is related to 4 and 1 is related to 4. Example :{(3,6),(6,8),(8,9)} is not transitive Here 3 is related 6, 6 is related to 8 but 3 is not related to 8 In the given question, {(1,6),(2,7),(3,8)} Here if condition is not satisfied. Here 1 is related to 6, but there is no relation from 6 to any element. So we neednot check the third one. Same in the case of (2,7) and (3,8) Hence it is transitive. A relation is not transitive if the condition given in the statement is false. Here the statement is not applicable , and hence it is not violating.. so it is transitive.

Dakho mai batata hu.. Jo sir na set liya hai usma A=[1,2,3] hai R=[(1,2),(2,1),(1,1),(2,2)] To Reflexive ka jo defination hai wo hai (a,a)€R for all element or set A But R ma (1,1) and(2,2) to hai but (3,3) nahi hai That's why the R is not a Reflexive relation

Sir in transitive relation if we take a=1,b=2,c=3 then it will be the transitive relation where 1,2,3 are also real number. but you've taken a=3/2, b=3/2 and c=6/5 which comes out to be non transitive. So my question is why you selected a=3/2, b=3/2 and c=6/5 and not a=1,b=2,c=3 where both are real number but one giving transitive and another giving it's non transitive.. plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz explain

to disprove any statement in Maths only one example is enough & if we have to prove (Correct) we have to generalise the case. Saral bhasa me galat prove karne ki liye koi bhi ek example kafi hain jabki sahi bolne ke liye usse in general sabhi ke liye sahi hona padega.
