I’m Lex Veldhuis, a poker professional and an official ambassador of PokerStars. I have been in the poker industry for 17 years and counting! When I was only 5 years old I got in touch with computer games and got very competitive with beating the games. In 2004 I began with my first online poker games and the rest is history. In 2016 I started streaming every single game live on Twitch.
On my channel, you can expect all of my biggest scores and best runs, poker and stream highlights, and competitions. Next to that, I invest $100,000 per month of my own money in tournament buy-ins.

Only 7 in 10 million hands, (in holdem using both hole cards) which is well under what you are expected to hit, I have only ever flopped 2, and you are expected to flop a royal approx 1 in 270k hands, but obviously you dont see a flop with suited Broadways everytime so not sure what that should be in approx 10 million hands

I love how even though you are a high roller reg, in tourneys like 5200, and 10ks but you are just as passionate in high equity spots in 27 dollar tournies, ps, I also like how you will take the same spots and play exactly same way, not shying away by 4 betting A5s and shoving blockers on rivers in 10ks the same you would in a 27 dollar tourney, such an important quality to have and I would say that's the single biggest factor that separates well studied players that don't do as well as other well studied players in 1k plus tournies, they former are not able to pull the trigger and take them spots, as you or lena or Darwin etc would take like your playing for 50 cents

Was the 88 5bet shove purely player dependent?

Well played lex unlucky in so many spots, couldn't win a flip but you hit the 18 percent shot in the biggest equity spot of the day, so even out in end, but obviously feels like it could always be better huh 🎉

The worst play of the whole session was the re-raising war with AJ vs AA on the 5200 bubble when he had 30 BB with two short stacks on the table ready to bust before him

2:02 how do you get to over bet this turn? He now has nut advantage you don't have as many strong hands here as villain either? I am not saying it's wrong I am just trying to learn these heads up deep tourney spots ?

Overbetting turn has more to do than just nut advantage (first off lex has 69s in his range at some frequency too, even though sb calling range may have it at higher frequency), it also has to do with equity distribution, and with an ace on the board his overall equity is higher (since he has more AA, AK, 88, etc) so he's allowed to make overbets with hands such as these

@@omarhugethanks for that. I have been out of the game for 3 and half years and just from the way in which you explained this and use of terminology etc, it's clear you are well studied in all areas of the game. I am sure you will agree the game moves on so much in 3 and half years, and I am just getting back into poker but before I return to mid stakes tournies I want to be well versed in all areas first. Also I am sure you would agree that SB vs BB spots are the most intricate/nuanced spots in tourney poker, more so the deeper we are, you obviously noticed to that I wasn't saying it's wrong, I literally just didn't know so I like to ask, just glad someone who is clearly clued up on the game and this particular spot replied to me, as oppose to someone who just looks at the exact hand and doesn't look at the bigger picture as I am sure you also see all the time from people who have probably played less than 50k hands lifetime lol. Wish you well my friend and thanks for taking the time to explain the spot ❤👍👍

At that stage of the 5k, the 88 win against kk probably just about evens out all the equity you lost in all the 1k spots that went south
