I absolutely adore the concept of you being terrorized by the monsters the whole stage, before you get the shotgun and turn the tables on them. I kinda hope the lights come on or something to really drive home the fact that YOU are the monster now.

While I kinda like the CONCEPT of the stage being a massive maze with survival horror elements, I definitely prefer the final game's more linear level with actual stealth, especially because it allows the game to keep the cutthroat pace of the other levels even in what would normally be a much slower stop-n-go level. And they even kept the bit with the shotgun and killing off all the monsters, which is cool. Also the newer AI means that whenever the monsters DO start chasing you, they actually feel like an immediate threat instead of a slow-moving hurdle to jump over. And it makes for some of the most enjoyable secret areas in the game.

Disclaimer: I think I know what those animatronics are. I’ll put it in the read more if you don’t want to know. Because if you understand them their less scary. Basically the animatronics that move around the level are phantoms (ghosts or apparition) , the real ones are in the background of the center room. This is why they don’t hurt the player, but send the player back after three times, and why you can both see them in the center room and chasing you at the same time. So maybe the animatronics have souls, like Toppins stuffed into suits.

I think that the ones in the background are actually the hallucinations, meanwhile the ones chasing you are real. I mean, if they weren't real and/or were ghosts then how would they physically harm Peshino and even be able to kill Peppino/send him back to the start?
