Funny that happen to me too, I decided to start a separate plant tank so I took plants out of my thirty gallon, and put them into a 10 a few days later I saw one little fry so I tried my best to feed him and keep him. I went away for one day, and when I came back he was dead, :( Which I:m pretty sure I washed all of the other ones down the drain in washing my plants. So I'd say unless you need to really wash your plants don't do it and possibly save lives.

I love your vids/tanks. it makes me ashamed of my 29 gallon with only two live plants. one thing Ive been interested in, for when i grow up, get my own house/condo,and get a bigger tank, is refugium/sump filters for freshwater. If you use one (or maybe thats the next thing you can do) can you make a video on how to make it/ maintenance.

so are you going to root tab? I had alot of trouble getting my plants to grow as fast as they did in the eco/gravel mix before. I have gone back to eco-complete and plants are on fire.

I don't know if it's the same for rainbow fry, but for me it seems like the fry live off algae for a while; my convict cichlids had two batches before i realized and the fry were just grazing on algae on the walls, same for guppys. Cool vid man

Cool video, can't wait to see and update on the fry once is bigger, I like your tank with sand, half my tanks are with sand. How is your Madagascar Lace plant doing bud?

Same thing happened with my assassins. Although out all the eggs (loads), I have only seen two babies so far. Not sure if that is normal.

Never saw that assassin snail video, but if you're still willing to do one, you'd have at least one person who's interested c:

Tanks looking good.... even with the algae. Fry are probably munching any micro-organisms living in the algae.

Can you make a video just on sand? I have had some many up's and down's with it I don't use it any more....but maybe I was just doing it wrong?

Hopefully they aren't hybrids. I know a lot of times rainbows breed with different types of rainbows. My turquoise male has spawned with both my australian female and my boesemani female.
