In this video, we sketch a pretty curve, given by f(x) = 3^(cos(x)) times sin(x). It's periodic with period 2pi, and has five points of inflection on [0, 2pi]. We sketch both the first and second derivative, and use those to infer relative extrema and points of inflection. We also find the intervals where the function is increasing, the intervals where the function is decreasing, the intervals where the graph of f is concave upward, and the intervals where the graph of f is concave downward.
