In this live webinar, Roger Caddell (AiM Sports National Training Manager) and co-host, James Colborn (JamesColborn.com) discuss James' firsthand experience of 1 year using a SW4 Steering Wheel on his Formula Ford.
James started the webinar with a quick overview of the AiM SW4 Steering Wheel. James provided information on the evolution of the AiM steering wheels since the original 'Formula Steering Wheel'. He even provided several images of his own personal use of a GS-Dash on his Formula Ford steering wheel, then to a Formula Steering Wheel 2, and now to a SW4.
With James now having a full year of experience using the SW4, he took the time to list and discuss the things he immediately loved about the SW4 and also shared the things that took a bit of a learning curve to realize the full SW4 benefits.
James shared a very clear diagram of how is Formula Ford is configured with the SW4 as the center or hub of his system where he has added a fairly full and rich system.
James did also take some time to discuss how he has created custom screens for different scenarios that are important to him including the pages; Qualifying, Race, Tires, and a Check page with many channels designed to be viewed while the car is in the paddock.
Next James played a short video showing how he has setup his SW4 to use one of the rotary switches to very quickly and easily change from page to page and he likes this because he can easily use this rotary switch without taking his eyes off the track as he is racing the car. He also is very pleased that these rotary switches are tactile and it is clear to him when he moves from one setting to another.
James finished the webinar with a live demonstration of configuring a few channels, buttons, and rotary switches on the SW4 to show how this can be done and the power that is available to the user.
