Aartis are performed at various times through out the day. Kakad arti marks the beginning of the day and is offered during the sunrise with a view to awake the diety. When we begin our day with kakad arti, it reinforces the understanding that routine worldly activities are secondary in importance and that God is the ultimate center of life. Kakad aarti serves as an early morning reminder to stay vigilant through out the day so that the forces of material pleasures and desires do not overcome the individual. Just as the lighted wick provides light and chases away darkness, the vigilance of an individual can keep away the influence of the material world. Regular recitation of kakad arti gives peace of mind and keeps away the evil from our life and makes us healthy, wealthy and prosperous.
