I think you should know this but since you didn't precise I'll say it here : the quality increase the load capacity of mounts by a decent amount

Even to this day most people don't know the difference between the Courier Passive Skill and the Max Load Stat. Since the Courier is a passive skill you get the load bonus even when dismounted; you just need to have the mount equipped. The Max Load is a stat so that means you only get the bonus load when mounted. And that's why you should never use mounts such as an Ox/Mammoth/Bear/Ram for Gathering, they are only for crafters/transporters who do one-time runs. As a Gatherer you will be constantly dismounting and mounting, and any moment a Ganker might tag you and remove your mount when you are dismounted, leaving you overweight. Hence always use mounts such as Horse/Lizard/Boar for Gathering

@@imperialtrooper927 sure do it. This change was introduced an year back and yet most people don't understand it even to this day. Earlier every mount used to be similar so oxes/bears/mammoths, and didn't have the courier skill. The introduction of courier to mounts was a massive help for Gatherers. But on the other hand oxes/bears/mammoths have higher max load capacity, which still keeps things balanced so that if you wanna do a one-time transport from one zone to another, you wanna use these mounts instead of deers/boars/lizards as courier mounts have comparatively less max load

About the quality of mounts, the one that it might be worth paying more for quality it is the Transport Mammoth. The difference in amount of weight you can carry between Excellent and Masterpiece is quite big, and the price is also some millions more expensive.

i've got tons of ideas lined up for guides. unfortunately they take a lot more time than pvp videos so the speed on publishing them is lower in general. you can expect all sorts of albion online videos at random: beginner guides, advanced guides, tips and tricks, funny moments, some old man wisdom from time to time and pvp too

For the Quality it is important for Transport Mammoth because of their high carry weight it increases by a lot based on quality. (Dont know exact numbers but ca. 3000)

Hey man, you may have missed something about the bighorn ram. There is a hidden stat for mounts in Albion Online: “time to gallop”. Stags’ time to gallop is quite low (around 2 secs), compared to other mounts. Maybe the Bighorn Ram has a very low time to gallop to compensate for the other stats? Nice vid btw :D

You're completely right! I remember that stat being on the mounts before.. or seeing it somewhere at least. Pretty sure they also increased it for the Swiftclaws at some point. Did some testing just now and Stags gallop real quick, but personally I still can't justify the use of Bighorn Ram for anything in its current state

Tbh .. t5 ox Exc is nearly same as t6 normal with carry capacity and thats really good to know, you should mention that, transport mounts are affected really much, such as Mammoth ...

bighorn ram as of now is actually not bad it is like a t4 horse in speed (100% gallop speed) with lots of carry weight but it won't save you from a big group of gankers

Stags/Moose if you want decent carry weight and good speed. They don't carry as much as boars, bears, oxen or mammoths but they're way faster and a great balance between speed and carry weight for gatherers. The only real downside is that it has no defenses Boars if you want carry a somewhat large carry weight and decent speed. This is a bit expensive but if you're the type to gather a lot of materials and also want to ride something faster than an ox, this mount is for you Lizards if you want some decent carry weight and constant speed. These guys can't carry as much as boars but their real strength lies in their constant movement speed. See, the stats of this mount have the same starting movement and galloping speed meaning that you can't be slowed down if a mob or player attacks you while you're on the mount, as opposed to Stags, Moose and Boars which will slow down significantly if they get attacked. The Lizards are not too fast, not too slow but also not too weak to carry a bit more weight in your inventory. I think they're used in Red zone and Black zone gathering because the same speed stats helps gatherers escape from gankers more easily.

I rerolled my t8 ox to masterpiece after like 10 tries, it has quite a lot more carry weight, did this cause I can't possibly afford a mammoth for an eternity. Then I spent like 3 mil rerolling another ox and it didn't even go up from normal lmao. The carry weight per quality for horses is rather insignificant in comparison, they really should make quality matter a lot more for other stats as well.
