I found that pairing the star cloak and the celestial cuffs, which is an upgrade involving the mana (mage?) cuffs and the celestial magnet works well because along with the benefit of the regular mana cuffs, they have the major pickup range of mana stars meaning they benefit most from the stars that fall from the star cloak

Berserker Gloves and Frozen Shields concentrate a lot of Defense into 2 accessories and a great for adding massive defense boosts (21 if both warding) onto Summoner builds, while providing extra defense while injured, Whip speed and autoswing. AND the gloves are getting buffed soon!

honestly of the mana flower accessories: magnet flower is imo the worst as you will probably have the celestial emblem and it doesn't stack with the celestial emblem. mana cloak is the best in singleplayer, but in multiplayer especially if you're playing as a healer (support mage with spectre hood or nebula armor), arcane flower is hands down the best.

A few things I'd like to mention: For the Aggro reducing/increasing accessories, these still work in single player, as they decrease or increase the actual number of blocks that enemies notice you from, its extremely hard to notice, but if you stack all of the taunt items you sometimes have enemies aggro on you from the edge of the screen, which is almost impossible to notice as those enemies are likely walking onto the screen and moving the same way as if they did not have aggro, but for the putrid scent items, if you stack the recon scope, stalker's quiver, arcane flower, and putrid scent, you can sometimes have enemies within a few blocks of you completely fail to notice you, which is extremely broken in single player. Because these effects stack, i can actually recommend that you use both paladin shield upgrades + berserker gauntlet + flesh knuckles, especially in multiplayer, as this can sometimes take all the aggro, or you can stack all the putrid scent upgrades to become pseudo-invincible, at least to standard enemies. next, is that these new upgrades actually stack with the previous upgrades, the only one I can't reccomend is using multiple of the mana flower accessories, as this does nothing, but recon scope + sniper scope gives bonus damage/crit chance, berserker glove still stacks with power glove accessories, and magic quiver upgrades all stack, for when you want your arrows to be bullets instead.

I used to use the celestial cuffs over the mana flower because I thought increased star pickup range and mana replenished on being struck would replenish my mana the same as mana potions but without the damage decrease, but after 1.4 my standard mage loadout changed to celestial emblem+mana cloak due to the fact that I realized what a necessity mana potions actually were, and the mana cloak provided a similar burst of mana when hit but also does damage and is conceptually a lot more interesting, as well as celestial emblem providing increased star pickup; with boots, shield, wings, and an accessory of my choice if in expert mode in the other slots.

The Grand Design : Very useful, made from all the wrenches, wirecutters, mechanical lens. it lets you see wires passively all the time and givs infinite range when placing or removing wires , whole sections instantly in a single action . can be crafted pre-hardmode. never fall prey to traps again

Something that has not be sayed but is realy usefull : the new upgrades can let you use the old acessories and it's upgrade at same time. For exemple, using the Sniper scope and Recon scope at same time, both giving +10% damages and critic chances, even at not gun ranged player, it's a HUGE damages boost for rangers, giving a total of +20% for each. And i think it can work for the other acessories. Try using mana cloak and mana magnet, maybe you can attract the stars from the skys after they hit the ground.

Recent update increased Hero Shield to 10 defense as well as keeping the previous stats. Which makes it the accessory with the highest defense stat you can get in the game, paired with warding it has a whopping 14 defense.

Something which is helpful to note is that in 1.4.1, falling stars from the Star Cloak and its upgrades will do much more damage. This will make the mana cloak a way better upgrade for the Mana Flower (especially since you will probably be using the Celestial Emblem, which also gives a non-stacking mana star pickup range boost).

I would probably go for the stalker's quiver but I only use the quiver in expert mode. Though the manga quiver would be useful since I use an endless quiver 90% of the time. I would go for the arcane flower since the whole point of mage armor is don't get hit due to your low defense. This or the putrid scent itself would be useful for multiplayer summoners.

One thing i do that might not be entirely optimal in multiplayer is to bring Paladin Shield on Summoner to draw damage away from the Melee character because i'm usually far enough away to not be in as much danger of getting hit as the melee.

Actually reducing aggro effect DOES work in Single Player too. It decreases the range from which enemies engage you .. works great vs enemies that tend to snipe you from off screen - you can get much closer to said enemies before they start firing at you. However if you have active summons on you they counteract the effect by aggroing enemies off screen so yea to fully utilize this effect you need to ditch your summons. This is also the same case with effects that draw more aggro from enemies , enemies will snipe you from further away than usual which is annoying af on harder modes in SP. Only aspect of these effects that doesn't work in SP is during boss fights cause obviously you are fighting these alone so they don't have any other target to aggro :P

The real benefit to the new quivers is that they can all be equipped at the same time, giving triple the damage buff compared to just the magic quiver.

Well yes, the 10% damage does stack, but I don't think it's worth to do so. The ranger emblem offers 15% already, and using 3 quivers sacrifices some other essentials like the Master Ninja Gear and wings. But yeah, you can do that. Too bad the arrow velocity doesn't stack, that would be pretty broken.

Year old video but rangers may be interested in upgrading to the recon scope because you can make another sniper scope and stack them. It’s only 2% more crit than if you ran a destroyer emblem but if you have another rifle scope you might as well.

Putrid scent actualy work on single player, in a pretty annoying way. I find not much different about most enemies, but putrid scent make King slime ignore me, even if I am right behind and shoot at him, like he doesn't care and just hop away, it also make him teleport away from me when I got too close, for some reason. He still deal contact damage though.
