Fort Moultrie is one of the great things about Sullivan's Island. Not only can you access the beach from the fort property, there's a floating dock behind the visitor's center as well. Plus, you can ride bicycles all over the island a check out the historic homes and structures. Also, from the rock pile on the SE of the fort, you can see Fort Sumter and Charleston Harbor.
