you cant compare a macbook pro with retina display to a $500 budget monitor. Compare it with other monitors in the price range.

I understand your point. And yes they are different leagues. But it is still a valid point that if it differs too much, then it won't be a pleasant experience. So if your setup is that you have this monitor and your MacBook as your 2 monitors work flow, then the difference between them will be too much for it to be useful. It surprised me considering its an IPS panel.

Well this monitor dont have true hdr. Its a scam this hdr400, company have to pay to get that hdr400 certificate but it doesnt mean that monitor is hdr capable. You never mentioned if you calibrated monitor
@abuneazir8 күн бұрын
@@TheShaoJay I didn’t know they pay for the certification but now that you mention it, it sounds obvious. The Apple Studio monitors aren’t HDR certified anyways and the monitors are still Excellent.

he shouldnt even be considering a gaming monitor for coding/content creation. specially once with such a low accuracy color rating compared to others. its a 40 budget monitor that is now under 500$ :P he said it himself, he needs more pixel density for sharpness and reading.
@jodajackson448910 сағат бұрын
These aren’t actually bad things. This is a budget gaming monitor. 3440x1440 is too low a resolution for a 40” monitor used for coding, color accuracy sensitive work and the like. The HDR feature can’t be taken seriously at this price point on any monitor (unfortunately) currently. It’s not a curved monitor but this is a personal preference issue (I don’t mind it). Clearly it’s not well suited for a Mac given its “Gaming” moniker. It’s currently on sale for ~$260 off of Amazon and it is an excellent 155hz gaming monitor at that price. One more thing, IIRC, the USB-C connection on this monitor is to be used with the built in KVM with specificity. That is to say, you’ll have your main PC connected to one of the ports such as HDMI / DisplayPort and have an auxiliary device connected to the USB-C port (for fast switching KVM). If you don’t have a PC connected to the primary connection you’ll get unreliable results with the auxiliary connection (won’t wake from sleep state). For proper setup and use one should read the manual for this feature.

You're working with vertical documents on an ultrawide, trying to experience HDR on a display that lacks true HDR, complaining about pixel density compared to a Mac retina display, and expecting a Windows monitor to play nice with a Mac. In short, you're bitching about the monitor's inability to do what it's not designed to do.
@abuneazir7 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment. Well the lessons learnt here are that: 1/ don’t believe what many KZbinrs say, but experience it yourself. There are a lot of videos from developers that applauds the ultra wide ratio, however it just didn’t quite work for me. 2/ the pixel density is bad for the monitor itself. I.e if you want 40’’ you’d need more than 1440p in my opinion. And it’s more obvious when you’re sitting with a Retina display as second monitor. 3/ HDR is a gimmick/selling point, don’t even bother with it being HDR certified. Side note: it’s not a Windows monitor, not labelled as that anyways. 😊

By windows monitor that means anything that does not specifically say it plays nice with Macs, (that is the default). If you want to read up a bit Google “bjango Mac external displays” There is a part 1 from 2016 and part 2 from 2022 There is basically a good zone with lower resolution displays around 109ppi, (will look pixelated “blocky” but not “blurry”) and higher resolution around 218ppi Everything in between will look bad (weird inconsistent blurryness, shimmer) because Macs have very specific (lack of) anti-aliasing support for non-retina (non-APPLE) displays There is also a program called “BetterDisplay” you can use to try to force the Mac to play nicer with more standard monitors.

"It's not an ultrawide monitor" looks like 21:9 to me.
@abuneazir8 күн бұрын
You are right, it is 21:9, albeit it actually felt like a 16:9, probably due to the size. I’d expected it to be less in height and more in width.

A 4k monitor is better suited for your use. This monitor is more suitable for someone who doesn't need a high PPI count and will also game on it occasionally.

Yeah, I also reached that conclusion. But I pulled the trigger on it before I dived into the monitor trench. It was a return so it was 20% off, I got it for 400 bucks. All in all it was a good experience since it gave me better directions on what monitor to choose.

@abuneazir what monitors are you looking for in black friday? Im planning on buying this monitor, but it's going to be for gaming and stock trading. So I would like a bright nice picture quality more for gaming.

@@aim-for-greatn3z947 after this monitor I tested the Dell Ultra Sharp U3223QE for 2 weeks and was very pleased by it. The 4K 32’’ is the perfect size. I will be reviewing it shortly. It isn’t optimal for competitive gaming though if that is what you’re into, and it’s quite expensive. Otherwise the picture quality was superb. I did however see the Gigabyte M32U on sale for half the price of the Dell (500 bucks) and it looked very nice for being an IPS panel. Check it out! Some complaints on the KVM switch and whining sound so be careful of that though.
