So about the Metropolis pallette: "Each look idea is centered around a “quad” (...) to give a good idea of the “core” color scheme of a look". In the beginning I as well found the pallette to be a bit confusing but when looking at it this way it started to make a lot of sence. I find folowing the rows (also diagonally) makes for really pretty looks as well.

The *Metropolis* is one of her best Palette and I have them all. 1. It has 28 of the best colours similar to colours from all the other palettes. 2. It's the best way for beginners to know her brand without spurlging out on too many palettes. 3. It's one of her palettes with the best all round ND quality. 4. ND explains this very well. Looking at the shadows like quads, rows, columns and diagonally; everything makes so much sense. 5. You can create so many looks with just one palette. I can create a look for everyday of the month.

I heard from someone that ND arranged the metropolis palette in quad format so that groups of colours are put together.....hence why it looks jumbled initially. I don’t know how true that is since I didn’t check their website!
@BunnyM35 жыл бұрын
I was just going to say this. Theres a youtuber named KinkySweat that demonstrated why the metropolis palette was arranged that way.
@caityvokes73235 жыл бұрын
I haven't verified this either, but I totally believe it because when I look at only a quad at a time I see all kinds of looks. It actually convinced me that I want it if it's still available at sale time!

Yes, you are right! Natasha mentioned this in her Sephoria Masterclass that Sephora posted on their channel. Also, Natasha posted her Masterclass of the Metropolis palette on her channel too. Also, of course KinkySweat talked about and demo’d it as Aleasha Marie mentioned. Also, Natasha based the palette on New York and if you think of a Metropolis like New York you think of melting pot of peoples, of energy, and vibrancy and fast paced and a cacophony of clashes of colors and sounds and movement and that palette depicts it to me so well! Lol! 😉
@Eroom1055 жыл бұрын
Also, if you look at the colors down the column, those colors look like they go together.

The metropolis palette is actually my ultimate favourite palette. Once you find it, try just covering up half the palette and it looks more uniform. I’ve seen people actually depot the shadows and rearrange them too.

These 5 best 5 worst videos are always so helpful! Am I weird for liking the Metropolis palette? P.s. you look SOOOOOOOO pretty in this video, Jamie! (You always look pretty, but I just love the soft makeup you got going on) ❤️

I just got the Metropolis palette from my boyfriend for my birthday and it's gorgeous in real life. I didn't know he was buying it, and at first I was like "shit, I'm not sure I really wanted this" because a lot of shades looked too similar. They're pretty different in real life though, which was a relief. I think it comes to preference, I love dramatic looks and I don't own any neutral shadows so Metropolis was a great addition to my collection and I'm happy to own it. It goes well with my colorful palettes and works wonderfully as a standalone as well.

Honestly I know there's a lot of criticism about the Metropolis palette, and I don't disagree about shade repetition and that there are some things she definitely could changed in the palette. That being said, I don't regret my purchase at all. I find that using the quad format allows me to create different looks than my usual, and it's pretty inspiring. And truthfully, the formula is so nice. The CP formula blends beautifully, and the shimmers are lovely. I also appreciate that the color select has a great range of neutrals and bolds (and even better neutrals than Biba IMO) I only own a few Sydney Grace singles and her Sunrise palette, so for me this is a perfect addition to my collection. I really can't recommend it enough if you decide to try it! 😄

Thats why I prefer single eyeshadow pans ! You have ONLY colors you like and want. Not 10000 similar shades for 100 dollars. I always want to try ND palette but they always have smth I dislike about them - either a few colors I know Im not gonna wear or too many similar colors...no thanks and back to my singles colleciton which is waaaaay more satisfying and pretty then any ND palette lol.
@Sue-pn7mq5 жыл бұрын
Same here, I have a few of her smaller palettes, but if I pay so much I want to like almost all colors and they’re too neutral for me most of the time. What are your favorite single shadow brands?
@ZijnShayatanica5 жыл бұрын
Likewise!
@4booky8315 жыл бұрын
You don't find it more expensive? I'm all for singles but for the price of 4 singles I really like, I can get a palette with far more shades. I tend to choose palettes where I like at least 90% of the palette. Then again, I like to be more mindful with my purchases so I dont buy palettes if I have the majority of the shades already..
@Sue-pn7mq5 жыл бұрын
4booky I’d rather have those four really special shades that I will love and enjoy every single time I put them on than a larger quantity of good shadows in a palette. I often find that shadows in palettes are not as unique to me as single shadows, I like color, sparkle and color shifts, so I don’t mind paying a little bit more for less if that is what makes me happiest. I think it depends on what you want to use the shadows for and the way you use them, that’s why I like that there are options. If there are palettes with shades you’ll almost all use that’s great, but for me when I buy a palette a lot of the shades are usually redundant, so singles are a perfect solution in that case.
@shannonjenningsmakeup5 жыл бұрын
4booky singles are definitely more of a straight up investment but I think it’s cheaper in the long run only replacing the shades you actually use rather than buying another huge palette every time you run out of your transition shade and brow bone highlight.
@sandrift5 жыл бұрын
I think the Metropolis layout makes more sense if you’ve heard it described by ND. If you look at the pans as quads, and even on the diagonals, you’ll see different looks better that way. And of course the quality is great. Nice video!

I recently bought the mini gold palette and I just looove it. I couldn't bring myself to buy the original gold palette. It's just way too expensive. I like the color story of the mini even more. It's really leaning green, and it goes with my eyes so beautifully. It's a great way also to try the formula. The colors blend really nicely. I'm really happy with my purchase.

I have a hard time liking ND because of the price. I can barely afford the $25 palette's at Sephora let alone the normal priced ones.
@ZijnShayatanica5 жыл бұрын
Agreed. But if you like the Gold Palette, Alter Ego & Profusion have really beautiful dupes. And Alter Ego has a dupe of the Biba. Otherwise? I'd rather just buy singles of colours that I find appealing, if I have no similar shades already.

I have to agree with Kristi who said in her last video that there’s no justification for such high prices. I was gifted the gold palette and I am glad I have it, it’s lovely, but still I don’t think $129 is worth it and I don’t think we should « allow » brands to sell us these products when most of us cannot afford them. There is so much you could buy with that money, imo it’s over the top.

I never used to buy palettes because I found that powders didn't last long enough on my eyelids, I would always buy eyeshadow sticks. But then for some reason the Urban Decay Born To Run palette caught my eye and I got that. And now I just splurged on the Metropolis palette. I am so glad that the shadows in the Metropolis palette last really well on my eyes without creasing. And I like that it has lots of different colour options. I normally only use a couple of colours on my eyes anyway, one in the crease, one on the lid, so the Metropolis palette gives me lots of different looks! 😀

i can appreciate luxury makeup for what it is, however, i truly do not think it makes sense to spend that much money on eyeshadows/makeup. i think spending upwards of your monthly car payment or a good chunk of rent for some people on makeup is just mind blowing. unless a person can comfortably do it (then it totally makes sense) and they love luxury makeup, i don’t see any other reason for it. even when it comes down to the ingredients and sheer cost it is to make cosmetics, it absolutely is not upwards of hundreds of dollars and frankly, it’s full on scary that brands are willing to charge consumers this much money for makeup.

I agree, her best palette is Biba. I wear that probably more than any other palette I own. Second to that, I would go Star palette for versatility and Gold for texture. Worst ND for me would be the crystal topcoats because they dried completely out in a short timeframe and became unusable though I loved them at first purchase.
