I'm going to be honest, I've been looking for a fitness watch for months now and could not find a good price for a fitness watch that does what I need. I was interested in the fitbit charge 2, but I really needed something that was waterproof and had a lot of options. I appreciate the fact that this video gives me multiple options and actually stopped my long search! (: Another subscriber earned dude!

I've had the Polar A360 for over a year, and it's great. Very durable and accurate when you use the bluetooth H7 heart rate sensor. I've tried many fitness trackers, and I'll be very honest....the built in heart rate monitors are NOT very accurate (especially in high intensity workouts where your HR goes above 150 bpm). As a result, I've always stuck with Polar brand trackers and watches since they are all compatible with the blue tooth chest straps. Not trying to give a biased review, but if you're looking for heart rate/calorie burn accuracy during your workout, you may want to take Polar products into consideration.

Really appreciate all the videos that you have uploaded during the past few months! Just wanted to mention that I have had the honour to try the Vivosmart HR, Fitbit Blaze, and Microsoft Band 2. You are right in regards to the MB2 having a very accurate sleep tracker. It exceeded over the others that I've tried, not only in sleep tracking, but in every way possible, when comes to features and accuracy. In the end, I returned the others and kept the MB2. Your videos have helped me to narrow down my search for a fitness band, and make a sound decision in the end. Keep up the great work!

Diane Laudadio True. However my wife has two different models, a Surge for running and a Charge HR for daily use. Both had proven defective with the Surge having charging issues due to sweat and the Charge band basically falling apart probably also due to sweat. Fitbit did however send her new units quickly and easily after she used the chat option on the Fitbit website. Great customer service. I think they have a 12 month warranty. I'm really thinking about that Vivoactive HR, I like the golf gps.

Thanks Eric for your sharing, before I bought my Band 2 I reviewed quite a lot of comments about the designing defect of its strap... but besides that Band 2 still listed the top notch wearable device and so regrettable that Microsoft suspended its Band 3 development.

Techy Agent Thanks for the reply :) As much as I've been a MS guy, they've made some bad decisions lately. Lumia was also one of the victims, I was hoping taking it from Nokia they would do a good job but they definitely murdered that brand. Windows 10 is shaping up well and I hope their Surface line will continue to be great though.

Thanks for the informative KZbin. Several months ago I bought a Garmin tracker "Vivofit" to see if I would like the concept. For several years I have used various pocket pedometers and during this time frame, I was able to get back to my ideal weight and lost over 50 pounds. I have been able to keep it off and now I am determined not to put it back on. Being an older female this is a daily task. I do like my Garmin and it is very motivating, and I have been good at entering my steps and calories consumption daily before midnight. However, there is a drawback to these kinds of trackers over pocket pedometers; they will not record anything while in stores pushing a grocery cart... and this should be a good time to get in extra steps! I have tried just pushing a cart with the hand that isn't wearing the Garmin, but it is difficult as the cart gets loaded up. And sometimes (I have arthritic knees) I have to lightly hold on to my treadmill when exercising and I use it daily. The tracker will not track those steps! So, I have to take the tracker off and put it in my pocket during all of these activities. For this reason, I see wasted money for me to ever purchase a more expensive tracker "watch" as I would be taking it off and on during any given day. However, I have been thinking about later buying a Garmin HR+ tracker to replace the one I have as I like the idea of the display always being lit. IF I ever do this, can you tell me the simple steps to disconnect the Garmin I have from my Smartphone in order to connect to a Garmin HR? Thanks!
@TechyAgent
@TechyAgent 7 жыл бұрын
+Penny Gardner yes, it's really easy to disconnect a device: go into the app and select "more" at the bottom. Scroll down to "Garmin Devices". From there you will be able to see a list of any devices that are connected to your app, you can select it and choose an option to disconnect it from the app. You could also use this similar process to add a new device

Looking to get one for my wife for Xmas. She has narrowed it down to the VivoActive, and the VivoSmart HR+ I think the VivoActive is better with more bells and whistles that she may use down the road. She is kind of leaning towards the HR+. Just happens that the local Best Buy has the VivoActive on a Black Friday sale for sub $200. What would you suggest?
@viper29ca
@viper29ca 8 жыл бұрын
Not sure how either will play well with her cell phone, as it is a Blackberry Leap
@TechyAgent
@TechyAgent 8 жыл бұрын
+Scott Millican yeah, the Blackberry Will definitely not be compatible with either of those. My wife has the Garmin Vivosmart HR+ and loves it. Does everything she would want, including notifications for apps and cell phone alerts, music controls, weather, and of course fitness tracking. But advanced fitness tracking and advanced GPS features is where the Vivoactive HR shines. So if you think she will use those features down the road, the Vivoactive is a good option. BUT, It is significantly larger than the vivosmart. For that reason alone, my wife prefers the vivosmart over the Vivoactive.

Which one do you think between a Garmin Vivosmart HR+ or Polar A360!!!!
@TechyAgent
@TechyAgent 7 жыл бұрын
+Charlotte Wilson They are REALLY close. Based on my own personal experience, I think that the Polar A360 has a more accurate heart rate sensor. So overall, I think it's better at tracking exercise. But the Garmin includes GPS, so if you are doing exercises that need distance accuracy, things like running and cycling, it is probably the better choice.

Which of the Garmin products have the best heart rate monitors? Does the Garmin's require a chest strap? And does the GPS work in foreign countries?
@TechyAgent

+Suurfside 16 all of the Garmin products use the same hr sensor, unless it's a product more than two years old. Some garments do require a chest strap in order to track heart rate, like the Vivofit 3 and some of the Fenix watches, for example. Yes, the GPS will work in foreign countries

+Ann Carr if you need heart rate data for any sort of exercise go with the Garmin Vivosmart HR (not the HR+). The HR model is cheaper because it doesn't have gps. If you don't need heart rate data for exercise, just resting heart rate, I like the Fitbit Charge HR. You can find them for under $80 now.

Thanks! Would you not recommend the Blaze then over the other two?
@TechyAgent
@TechyAgent 7 жыл бұрын
+Stephanie Dawson The Blaze has the best user interface and app of all of these devices. But it's not the most robust: no GPS, not waterproof, A little more fragile than the others, etc. if you talk to anyone who's ever owned a Fitbit, they will probably tell you that they loved it for the year that it worked, and then after that it usually breaks. So I think the Blaze is a good product, don't get me wrong. Just based on your description of what you were looking for, I would recommend the other two

+Graham Lacey The Vivoactive HR and Vivosmart HR+ by Garmin are probably the best in terms of battery life, getting 5 days of life minimum. Next would be the Fitbit Blaze, getting 4-5 days. Ironic or unfortunate for the time of this posting but the Mi Band seems to be discontinued as it has been completely pulled from their site. I found out as I called in to get my 3rd band replaced in a year. The batter just stopped: went to zero charge, would not take a charge. Two of my friends had the same problem and jumped ship. I guess that is why it has seemly stopped. I Love the functions, especially the sleep, but support is terrible and 3 breaks in a year is too much. I will move to Blaze.

I have had the same fate, although I managed to get a MS band 2 for half the usual price on kijiji and hoping it will last awhile at least. But after that if band 3 really is cancelled, then I will have to probably settle for a Blaze or Garmin vivoactive as well, since I'm on windows 10 mobile and those two seem to be compatible.. but I think functionality wise nothing can match up to the band 2.
@genkilife
@genkilife 7 жыл бұрын
DaveMusic, I have been now using the Blaze for 2 weeks. It Does not match what I had on the Band 2 but a bit of a moot point to make that comparison. For me, the Blaze seems to lack here: Heart rate does not seem to be right; my calorie count is up about 3 to 400 on average; I liked the detected as well as manual set for Sleep mode.

genkilife Thanks for the insights. I've heard multiple comments mentioning its inaccuracy when it comes to the HR sensor, which is mildly concerning. I'm also not quite sure how well the notifications perform, and as far as I know there's no 3rd party notifications either?

my last two fitbits broke ;( the other issue is was that fitbit never tracked my spinning accurately. I do really like their app however. I'm now really thinking about getting the Gamin. Questions, dose it track sleep? Do i really have to get a separate chest strap for HR? Will it pair with the gym equipment? Thanks and your video was great
@TechyAgent

+Norma Henry yes, all current generation Garmin products track sleep. Depending on which Garmin you get, some will pair with gym equipment. A separate chest strap is not a requirement, but it does help if you are doing weightlifting, in terms of accuracy.

+Inias De Roeck All of these would be able to give you your heart rate between sets, although it might take it 20 to 30 seconds to acquire your heart rate, forcing you to slow down your rest periods. All of these are about equal in terms of accuracy. Believe it or not, The Microsoft band 2 is probably the best in terms of giving you a quick and accurate heart rate, but Microsoft is discontinuing that line.

Finally, I real comparison of general use fitness trackers. Tired of everyone comparing the blaze to the Apple watch or other smartwatches. I already use an iPhone. Don't need a camera on my watch when I have a far superior camera in my pocket. Don't need to send text messages from my watch or make calls (seriously, how stupid is that). Also, I don't want to have to remember to charge my watch every night. For me, general smartwatches are a solution in search for a problem. The FitBit Blaze (which I just bought) has all of the features any reasonable person could need. I'm waiting for Apples next big innovative product. Maybe it will be a smart toe ring, or a hat with a keyboard...blah....

Hey Techy Agent, I am looking at getting a fitness tracker. I am thinking of getting either the Fitbit Charge HR or the Vivofit 2 with heart rate monitor. What are your thoughts? Also, while I was watching this video it looked like you were at a place in where I live called DM, is that where you make your videos? Thanks for your input!
@TechyAgent
@TechyAgent 8 жыл бұрын
+Julie Collier yes, I work out at DM in Middletown Ohio. Are you a DMer? If so, stop me and say hi sometime! Are usually work out sometime between noon and 4 PM. I actually recommend a new product that will be hitting the shelves sometime this next week: the Fitbit Charge 2. It will retail for $150. If you feel like that's a little bit of a high price, the Fitbit Charge HR will also get the job done. If you are familiar with DM style workouts (A hybrid of CrossFit and Boot Camp style) then I must also warn that modern day optical heart rate sensors have a hard time keeping up with that aggressive style workout. That's why am recommending the newer Fitbit Charge 2 - The newer optical heart rate sensors tend to be a little bit more accurate than the previous generation products. Either way, you should be happy, if you have any follow-up questions please don't hesitate to ask! If you use any of the Amazon links in the description, a small portion of the proceeds go to support this channel, so thanks for that if you end up buying!

Not the same for sure but, I feel good afterwards.

Is there any way we can use multiple fitness trackers and watches and able to combine into one app? I have Fenix 3 HR and I am interested to have variety. Bring to wear the same device everyday. If I were to purchase Samsung Gear S3...How can I combine fitness data such as steps, HR and sleep.
@TechyAgent
@TechyAgent 8 жыл бұрын
+Saravanan Gopal there may be, but I have never tried it myself. Garmin allows users to use multiple Garmin products with all of the data compiled into one source in the app, but it's not designed to let you use multiple trackers at the same time, it only allows you to use multiple trackers at different times. With an app like myfitnesspal, you could import the data from multiple trackers (steps, calories, etc) but the data can get messy and overlap. There isn't a perfect solution that I've seen, so if you find one, let me know!

Hi! Great video, thanks for your reviews. I was wondering if you could help me out, because I'm having a really hard time choosing the best tracker for me. From what I've seen, The fitbit would work great for me because I'm looking for 24/7 HR monitoring and a good sleep tracker too, but I do a lot of my workout in the pool, so that's a bummer, could I add the exercise manually? The polar looks great, but it doesn't have the 24/7 HR thing and it seems that the sleep tracker is not very good. The vivoactive seem cool too, but again, I hear the sleep tracker isn't that great. I would really appreciate your input on this! Thanks :)

+Cecilia Conroy The Vivoactive HR sleep tracking is about as good as the Fitbit Blaze, in my opinion. But, it's very bulky compared to the Fitbit Blaze. I purchased the Fitbit blaze for my husband last week, unfortunately after wearing it for only 2 days, the screen cracked. He didn't hit it against anything. He was at the gym earlier that day and then when he was mowing the lawn he noticed the crack. Has anyone had any complaints about the fragile screen? I returned it to Amazon, but wasn't sure if I should just replace it or look for something else? I've noticed on other websites, users have complained that it cracks easily and Fitbit replaced it for them, but my concern is what if it happens again?
@TechyAgent
@TechyAgent 8 жыл бұрын
Yes, the fitbit blaze is fragile compared to the others. Garmin uses a slightly dimmer, but much more durable screen technology. The Microsoft Band 2 also uses a fragile screen. So if you think you'll want something a little more durable, consider the Garmin Vivoactive HR or Garmin Vivosmart HR+. The screens aren't as bright, but they are more durable, and the only thing you'll have to worry about is the possibility of scratching.

HI I have a huge problem with fitbit right now. My Smartphone updated today to android 6 and now we have a huge problem. If you wan´t to synchronize your fitbit with the app it ask you to turn the GPS on! Fitbit knows about this problem since april or even earlier and they don´t fix it. That means every time you wan´t to pair your fitbit to your phone you have to tell them exactly where you are! And that is as far as I know the only fitness tracker who has this problem. I really love my Charge 2 and the app is grate, but the food scanning dosn´t work when you are not in the US and now this? I´m sorry but I really think I have to bring it back. +cocamartini well, I know that several Garmin products offer interval timers, but nothing that I know of offers that feature in conjunction with heart rate tracking notifications in real time based on heart rate zones. It's a cool feature, so if you find that, let me know because I would love something like that myself

+Rafaella Irene it's good for all of those, and more. It has many sports profiles you can add from the app to the watch.
