The decathlon riverside 500 inspired me to look deep into what bike I would buy. For some reason, its gear and chain system keep skipping and it gets worse over time. This happened to two models, the first one after one season of use, the second one before that season was up. This bike was maintained and properly stored indoors. The second time around I took extra care of the bike, but the problem was worse. Honestly, I'm at a loss, and so is my father who works with machines. I didn't have this problem with other bikes kept outside in the snow during winter

Decathlon unfortunately became very very greedy company, they released electric hybrid bike with overall good components, it was 1600£ , now, a year later the same bike is 2500£ which is ridiculous. I have the Riverside 920 which I bought for 370£, the same bike with lower components and gears is 700 nowadays. Used it for 4 years, 0 maintenance, no chain or any other changed component. The brakes doesn't work now so I'm after a new one. I am quite disappointed with their service as their shops have very minimum number of bikes available, and the one which I like is 500 miles away. I think I will go and buy myself Specialized brand bike this time around.

​ @bertyisaustin its this sort of comment / review that leaves me scared to purchase a bike. 800 USD for a supposed 300.00 Bike. Plus I have to pay 150+ for shipping, just to have it be my first bike and then not work a year later. I remember buying bikes as a kid and having them last years or decades and they were definitely not well-taken care of bikes, or "expensive" bikes by any means. If you see this I would love your input on a good starter bike in your opinion.

Little update, I went and bought the Specialized Sirrus X 4.0 for 1200£. It's really good bike, lightweight, hybrid, not electric. Very happy 👍😊

Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit kzbin.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

The fisr bike is recommended for night safety... but it doesn't even have lights. Judge yourself.

Quality at a good price i personally couldn't find better than my Ribble hybrid commutor shimano. 599 uk pounds. Nowhere near the best groupset but light and carbon folks. If like me you dont need the rack avd put on a carbon post ive got mine down from 11.5 to 10kg 5lbs. Im upgrading the casette to 105 as i have rd abd fd off a old trek. Full carbon saddle and eventually full carbon drops avd of coarse a 105 chain.

I'm confused... I know Scwhinn was a quality brand back in the day, but after they sold in the early 90's they went to the low end bix box store category. Why are they in a "best of" video? Are there two levels of Schwinn? Not making fun of them. Legitimately curious.
