Zamia or ZZ plants are easy indoor plants. I'm currently water rooting a cutting. The horse tail plant is gorgeous. Haven't seen it used as an indoor plant much. Worth a try.

Nice informative video Vidya... I have snake plant n some succulents in indoor arrangement other than these......please help me with.. How to save the red oxalis ( you have this in your dining area. I guess) in winter....

Thanks Deepa. For oxalis water when dry. Don't worry if leaves look sad, just pull off the dried ones. They have a bulb in the soil as long as they don't rot you are fine. You can even give it a full hair cut and it will bounce back.

I have killed an Areca Palm when we were in NJ. Haven't bought another one yet. They need a lot of humidity and good amount of light. I'd still say, tough the soil 1inch deep with finger and water when soil feels dry. It really depends on the heat and humidity in your home. Maybe you could move closer to a window and mist regularly or keep on a tray with pebbles and add water to tray.

Thank you Aparna. It is a poet’s jasmine. Flowers and fragrance is very similar to pichi. Got it from Harris Teeter. You can also see it at wegmans or Trader Joe’s a few times a year. Logees also should have it. Thumba seedlings are from a friend

Yes a lot of plants are toxic to pets and kids. But most of these are toxic only if they accidentally eat the leaves or touch the sap from plants. Will try to do a video.

In case you are seeing this please reply .. sos , I received my fiddle leaf fig through costco online this week. It already dropped 5-6 leaves. It looks sad and leaves are turning black. I have kept near a bright window. We are in CA so it is not cold yet. Please help me to save my plant.

Most likely it is in shock. From change in temps /lighting conditions at the storage, then transportation and now in your home. Give it some time. Water it only when soil is dry.

If you are having trouble with fungus gnats, just put a small spoon of cinnamon powder on your soil. It worked with all my houseplants and I no longer spot any gnats.
